About the Author
Bev Clark is a playwright, stage director, producer and poet who lives on the Wirral, Merseyside. She writes in many different genres - comedy, drama, horror, suspense, romance and historical plays. She writes for adults, youth theatres, schools and family audiences. Her one-act plays are specifically aimed at amateur drama festivals.
In 2008 Bev formed Hand in Hand Theatre, which produce new writing as well as traditional productions. An award winning company at both All England Theatre Festival and the National Drama Festival Association since 2009.
Bev is also a professional drama adjudicator for the Guild (GoDA) and has attended festivals all over England as well as Brussels International festival in 2016. In 2011 she was presented to the Queen at Buckingham Palace for her work with young people in the Arts. She has facilitated Devised Drama for many years including courses at Warwick University Summer schools and on the Isle of Man where her production of Invisible Chains, a hard-hitting piece about modern day slavery, won much acclaimed at TheatreFest 15.
In 2015 she formed her own online publishing company New Flight Publications at www.bevclarkplays.com where a selection of her titles can be read and downloaded. Other titles are available in paperback from Amazon. They include: Baggage a two-hander for older women, Make Me Invisible- a youth ensemble piece which deals with isolation and bullying. R.I.P. Mr Shakespeare a comedy extravaganza co-writer with Keith Hill as part of The RSC Open stages and a winner of seven awards at AETF and NDFA and received five star reviews.
Also available is The Black Eyes - a teen-horror one act ensemble piece which was the International One-act drama for young people winner in 2015 and published by Roister Doister Publishing. This play was also entered into the AETF 2016 and won through to the semi-finals in the Central Region and awarded best youth play.
