This book is a very sad indictment of how so many 'heroes' were treated so badly by their Government on their return from actually saving the way of life that those 'backstabbers' enjoyed. Lives, families and future generations suffered, in the majority, needlessly. Those who remained and endured little should have done everything humanly possible to assist the servicemen and their families, whereas all they did was create bureaucratic hoops and hurdles to make those who had suffered the most suffer more. There are countless people who should be held accountable for their appalling lack of understanding, lack of foresight and obvious lack of common sense. Praise be to those who shared their memories and total respect for your dignity and the knowledge that these were also unsung heroes. A very moving, compelling and extremely well documented book. Real history and drama that cannot and should not ever be repeated or equalled.
