HASH(0x952b4258) out of 5 stars First book ever written on this subject and well needed 14 Mar. 2004
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This is the world's first book ever written on airline business pland development. The author outlines the true "elements" of an airline business plan versus the generic business plan. Anyone interested in starting a big or small company, airline or otherwise, must have this book. Every airline, airport, air cargo operator, consultant, entrepreneur, investor, and enthusiast must have this reference on hand. Excellent work!

HASH(0x9784c8c0) out of 5 stars Good Handbook 12 Dec. 2008
By Kirsty D - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This book is exactly what it says, an easy to understand, step-by-step guide to developing an airline business plan.
I was required to buy this book as a text for an airline marketing course, it is a lot less effective a tool for a student - I would say spend the extra and get "Air Transportation" which has the same general concepts in depth and is a better reference tool. Don't purchase both unless you have money to waste.

HASH(0x955e2b64) out of 5 stars Unique and Enlightening 11 May 2007
By Elijah Chingosho - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I work in the airline business and was delighted to find a book that focuses on the fundamentals of airline strategic business plan development. The book captures the unique elements of airline business including the airline business environment, schedule, network and fleet planning, cost management and reduction and airline business models.

The book is well written in an easy to follow and understand format that should make it accessible to the various stakeholders of the air transport business. This is a must read book for all managers in airlines.

HASH(0x95416120) out of 5 stars waste of money 11 Feb. 2010

this book is best suited to those that have lived under a rock their entire lives and dont know what a business plan is. everyone i know has heard of a business plan, but if you haven't just google it and you'll find as much info as whats in this book. as an aviation business student i bought this book hoping it would help me in my studies. unfortunately the most helpful thing, the mock business plan written by the author, has to be bought separately from the author "for a nominal fee plus postage". Dude, i just bought the book, why do i need to buy separately what should be in here!....So, there are no specific examples, very generalised, no blueprint mock business plan. the only thing that was a clear example was the non-disclosure statement... but if you're really starting an airline, you'll probably get a lawyer to write this!

HASH(0x9555cd38) out of 5 stars Good Reference Book for Startups 23 July 2010
By Ersin Eker - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
Believed to be the first on developing an airline business plan, this book covers the whole process step by step. Along with restaurants and baseball teams, airline industry is said to be one of the tree types of businesses one should never invest money into due to the high risk involved. Nevertheless, investors are attracted to the airlines because of the huge paybacks if the company turns out to be a success. To minimize risks involved and increase the possibility of survival, airlines have to build solid business plans tailored to the specific needs of aviation instead of using generic business plans. A good reference book for new and existing airlines, entrepreneurs, investors, government agencies, consulting firms. Good job!
