Excellent presentation of basic physics for the intermediate school age or early high school age. I wouldn't say my ten year old daughter is enjoying it but that's too much to ask for any physics book. It does a good job of explaining simple physical relationships and concepts such as Newton's laws of motion and electricity.

There are lots of colourful pictures, worked through examples and pretty good explanations. I'd guess average ability children around 12 years old should be able to handle this kind of level with parental help or slightly younger more academically minded children.

At the minimum, it's explaining things much better than I could myself without a book.

In the same series, there are chemistry and biology books which are very similar.

I bought this for my 8 year old son and he has learnt a lot of useful facts about Physics. The book is probably best suited to children in the 11-13 age range, as it deals with material that is more linked to senior school Physics. However, that has not stopped my son learning fascinating facts about quarks and gluons....

My son is interested in science, so I bought this book for him. He is 9. He read it, but was not as overwhelmed by it as he is with other books such as Horrible Science. Perhaps he is still a bit too young. Hopefully he will pick it up again in the next few months.
