What a great story! When the murderer was revealed I amost fell off my chair, it was so unexpected! Hopefully Lynette will follow this book up with more about Detective Ruth Carter and, If so, I'll be ready and waiting for them!

An exciting crime thriller which keeps the reader guessing throughout. Is a murder over twenty years ago connected to the current spate of killings? DS Ruth Carter is a thoroughly likeable character.

This detective story is a gripping page turner with well drawn characters, fleshed out with back stories which give the book additional twists and turns, if the plot of a serial killer wasn't gripping enough. The gruesome crimes against young women seem to hark back to a tragedy which affected Detective Detective Ruth Carter when she was just 16: her best friend was abducted and murdered, and her close connection to this unsolved crime is what drew her to join the police force. Now it seems Prince Charming (as the killer was known) has returned, once again leaving arrogant clues for the welsh local police, or has he set his sights on Ruth? The race to catch the killer becomes time critical, as Prince Charming has plans to do something spectacularly gruesome at the stroke of midnight - can Ruth and her partner solve the puzzle in time?

If you like thrillers which keep you guessing, whilst on the edge of your seat, but are not so gritty and disturbing that you daren't turn out the lights, this novel is ideal. I've read and enjoyed other books by this author, in different genres, and I would definitely read more, in fact I have the sequel to this: What Lies Ahead on my kindle wish list!

What a fantastic and unputdownable read this was, I couldn't put it down, just kept me so enthralled all the way through. Lots of intrigue and twists to keep you reading. The end was very unpredictable and another Brilliant read from Lynette Rees. She writes so many genres and all IV reading loved, very talented lady, looking forward to the next in this series.

A bit of a change of genre from this author, but it was a 5 star read. I was gripped throughout and had me guessing right to the end. Lots of twists and turns. Bring on the next one!!!!!

Poor grammar, one dimensional characters, police procedure sketchy. Also either poorly proof-read or lots of errors in kindle edition with missing words all over the place. Only read through to the end to make sure I had the killers twenty guessed correctly ( I did, a quarter of the way through!!)
