A wistful, poignant novel. --Sarah Naughton, author of TATTLE TALE
In After Isabella, Fiore has created a compelling and provocative read, nicely paced and thoroughly absorbing. At times, both heart-warming and poignant, it's impossible not to feel a sense of loss on turning the final page. --Irish Independent
A beautiful, heartfelt novel that swept me up and held me tight until the end. I was lost in this powerful, poignant tale. --Amanda Prowse on AFTER ISABELLA
A heartfelt novel about how messy life is, and how relationships and families change over time. Both heartwarming and sad, it's an insightful, thought-provoking glimpse into female friendships, love and loyalty. --Julie Cohen on
After Isabella is a beautiful, absorbing novel that deals with the issues at the very heart of what it means to be a woman. I was drawn in from the very first page and loved the way Rosie handled both the harsh realities, and the beauty, of the friendships and family relationships that define us. I can't wait to read more from her! --Tracy Buchanan

The story unfolds through the different points of view, of Sam, Helen’s husband, Miranda his eldest daughter, and Lara a single mum at Miranda’s school. I confess that I skimmed Sam’s chapters sometimes as he really annoyed me. I even ended up shouting out loud at him on quite a few occasions. Good job I was at home and not in a café having a coffee!!
I enjoyed Lara’s part of the story as I liked her and felt a lot of sympathy for her situation. Miranda’s version of events was very well done even though I didn’t like her.
Helen’s point of view was rather sparse and only really appears towards the last third of the book, when you find out why and how she disappeared. I definitely would’ve enjoyed reading more about her, as I admired her, and her ability to just up sticks and walk away.
I would recommend this if you enjoy character driven domestic dramas, as there is a lot in this book.
Sam calls in the police, contacts everyone he knows in his pursuit of finding out where Helen might have gone until the police tell him Helen is fine she just does not want to be found.
Lara is a single mum with two children who helps Sam with his girls, eventually they fall into a relationship together, but everything is not as a relationship should be.
The story is told mainly from Sam’s perspective, with Lara and Miranda adding their voices to the story throughout and Helen’s view towards the end. It was strange seeing how Sam viewed himself compared to how Helen viewed him and his actions towards her. The story was interesting, especially being able to see how one person can convince themselves that they are perfect, when everyone around them can see the truth.
What causes a woman to up and leave her husband and two children one morning? Where does she go? That's what Helens husband is asking himself after she gets up and leaves one school morning. The book follows the lead up to that day, the current search for Helen and what Helen is up to now on her own.
It's not a thrilling book, you won't be shocked but it is a good read that I finished in one day. I was eager to continue reading, albeit not being a definite page turner. I would recommend this for a holiday read!
