Product Description

Comedy starring Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher as Joy and Jack, two strangers who spend a drunken night together in Las Vegas only to wake up the next morning to discover that they've married each other. To make matters worse, Jack wins the $3 million jackpot on a slot machine after playing Joy's quarter. Unwilling to come to an agreement over the money, they go to court where the judge freezes the cash and orders them to work on their marriage for six months. The newlyweds begin devising schemes to undermine each other and get their hands on the money, only to find themselves falling in love despite the mutual backstabbing.

This film is funny, has a slightly different spin on a common used story line, it's basically a good time waster.

For the bad reviews on this film from others saying things like its 'corny' 'predictable' 'typical' well what else where you expecting? This is a chick flick film and has the same core ingredients has the other 1,000,000 chick flick films out there.

If you like chick flicks and happy endings with some good comedy thrown in then this is for you, if you don't want any of that then why are you buying a chick flick?

This film which stars Cameron Diaz as Joy, a workaholic city trader who's desperate to marry her long term boyfriend but gets dumped instead. Ashton Kutcher plays Jack, a laid back lothario with very little drive who gets fired by his own father. Accompanied by their best friends Tipper and Mason, they decide to commiserate their respective bad luck in Vegas, a city which promises gambling, drinking and most of all, quick marriages so they tie the knot after a night of general debauchery. Waking up, they find they've made a huge mistake but then Jack hits the jackpot with Joy's quarter and ultimately sentenced to six months of `hard marriage' by a tough Judge, they decide to annoy one immensely in order to see who cracks first.

Diaz and Kutcher both have good onscreen chemistry and some of the set pieces are funny but I got the impression that I'd seen similar plots before. Some light relief is available from their best friends and characters such as their marriage guidance counsellor played by Queen Latifah. Otherwise it's watchable and if you like predictable endings, so much the better.

If you want a film where you can't hold back the laughter then this is for you. It has an original starting plot, lots of crazy moments between 2 characters who's natural chemistry is there for all to see.

Whatever your sex you will find this a giggle right up to the predictable ending, feet up, relax, smile and enjoy the ride. Ignore the previous negative comments - obviously a coldplay fan!

I laughed out loud the whole way through this film. Typical Diaz and Kutcher humour, good silly fun with a reasonable storyline.
If you aren't looking for anything too serious this is for you, and if you are a fan of these 2 you are bound to love it!

Sure Joy and Jack make for a handsome couple (Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher) - but what gives "What Happens In Vegas" so much zip as a rom-com - is that the two Hollywood A-Listers actually do seem to have some chemistry together (like Uma Thurman has with Jeffrey Dean Morgan in the underrated "The Accidental Husband").

Sober and forced to live in the same apartment as man and wife (the result of a drunken night and shotgun wedding in a Las Vegas Casino) - the warring couple have the incentive of a slot machine Jackpot at the end of their custodial sentence. So all our mismatched lovebirds need to do is survive six months in each other's company and a few soul-searching therapeutic sessions with one of those pesky marriage guidance types. Now how difficult can that be?

Will their initial undeniable attraction resurface? Will what happened in Vegas stay in Vegas? Cue raised toilet seats, shower curtain rails, poop jokes, parties, beer, hookers, double-crossing hijinks and man-woman bickering on a level that makes a night at The Sopranos dinner table look positively inviting.

"What Happens In Vegas" is a genuinely likeable watch - very funny and oddly charming too. Throw in a hugely talented support cast in Dennis Farina, Treat Williams, Deirdre O'Connell, Rob Corddry (as the obnoxious buddy), Zach Galifianakis and Queen Latifah as their put-upon but savvied marital doctor - and you're on a winner.

Fans should also be aware that the 'US' BLU RAY on 20th Century Fox is REGION A LOCKED - so it won't play on our machines unless they're chipped to be 'all regions' (which few are).

Stick with the UK variant - it's cheaper than a high-heeled floozy at the roulette table and will legally allow you to throttle your partner should they reach for the pause button on the remote...

This is a film bouyed up by two great leads. Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher are terrific as the uptight control freak dumped by her fiancee and the work-shy slacker fired by his own dad who decide to vent their frustrations by blowing off steam in Vegas. One fantastic night and an accidental marriage later, they decide to acrimoniously call it a day, but then one wins 3 million dollars with the other's quarter and they find themselves stuck with each other, the money frozen by a judge who decides to teach them a lesson. He gives them 6 months to try to make their marriage work or neither get a penny. And so the games begin.
While the couple's attempts to freak each other out are fairly funny and have some highlights, the film never goes to 'There's Something About Mary' slapstick territory, or 'Anchorman's astounding dialogue extremes, and as a result, the efforts come off as a bit cliched. Even Ashton's pee moment has been done better by Michael Douglas in marital strife comedy 'The War of the Roses'. As a result the film feels like it's mining a vein of gold that's been picked a bit thin, and even the central couple's relationship arc is predictable. But wierdly it's never as outrageously funny, nor as sweet, as it needs to be at either extreme. I was itching for the couple to actually show some real emotion or bear their hearts to each other in the 'heart to heart' sequences but it's all very restrained. As a result it comes off as two people who feels passionately enough to want to wreck each other's lives, but not enough to convincingly want to be with each other. For a romantic comedy, that's a pretty big iceberg heading towards us there captain. It's likeable enough and by the end it will have you smiling away, but it feels like a souffle. There seems to be a lot there, but there's nothing holding it up but air. This dish needed more sauce.
