In the first season, the hosts didn’t understand the nature of their reality. They didn’t have an element of choice. All that changes with the pull of a trigger. In Season Two, chaos takes control as the rancher’s daughter, Dolores Abernathy (series star EVAN RACHEL WOOD) takes charge, Maeve Millay (series star THANDIE NEWTON) is on a mission and the mysterious Man in Black (series star ED HARRIS) is back. A dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness, the birth of a new form of life on Earth, and the evolution of sin, the series also stars JEFFREY WRIGHT, JAMES MARSDEN, TESSA THOMPSON, LUKE HEMSWORTH, RODRIGO SANTORO and more.

Take all the best aspects of series one and add to it a system out of control and all bets are off. You can try to guess where the series will go but there are so many twists that you may as well save your time and just enjoy the ride. Clearly the creators of the series have a narrative and I'd imagine an end point, so really it's all about the journey.
Some people have commented that they found the crossed time streams confusing, but actually what it means is that this is a series you actually need to sit and watch. If you usually half watch programmes, have them on in the background while you use your tablet, phone or whatever, you'll quickly get lost here. But if you watch television in the same way you read a book then each episode will reward you handsomely .
I have no idea how many seasons Westworld will have, but I get the feeling from the number of episodes and the concentrated nature of the story line that it won't be more than half a dozen, if that. So like Boardwalk Empire or Madmen enjoy this jewel of a series, because they don't make instant classics like this very often.
