A nice potted pictorial history of West Midland Passenger Transport in the time between the merging of the local municipal transport undertakings (along with parts of Midland Red) and privatisation in 1986. Plenty of interesting high quality photographs neatly knitted together with knowledgeable and expert information from the author. Not quite as much detail as in the author's original volume of WMPTE history from a few years ago and the book does seem to come to a rather abrupt ending, almost as if it is waiting for a Volume 2.

Nevertheless for any bus or nostalgia buff especially one based in the West Midlands area it is well worth the investment and as ever Malcolm Keeley is a fount of knowledge on his subject.

Lots of pictures, mainy coloured, showing the transition of mostly the five operators of predominately, Birmingham and the surrounding areas of West Bromwich, Walsall and Wolverhampton. There are also some of Coventry buses and lots of photos of the main five operating in areas they never did previous to the transition. Excellent reference book, second only to, Colours of The West Midlands (Excellent)
