I have read the seven volumes of
Sir Charles Oman's History of the Peninsula Wars, of which this volume is an offshoot and, together, they form a significant resource. All, however, are rather plagued with typos to a point that suggests very lazy transcription and a lack of editing. The books remain useful, but it a great shame that such significant works should be treated quite so shabbily. As a writer I routinely seek to ensure that typos in my own work can be counted on five fingers or less, so I know it can be done and that there is really little excuse for what has been done to Sir Charles' fine work.
