      I purchased this product due to the Weller name and the quality it used to imply.
      Were do I start, so the iron takes a very long time to heat up, it doesn't hold it's temp even on very fine electronics work.
      The transformer makes a loud humming noise and becomes very hot.
      The well for the sponge is very shallow and not fit for purpose.
      The soldering iron holder doesn't stay in place and often falls over.

      The picture used to advertise the product is miss leading, the unit I received had an EU plug, no solder and a had a different tip.

      In short, my £15 Matalans DIY soldering iron totally out performs this soldering station.

      I would recommend looking at another iron, historically my previous Weller irons have been great - good luck.

      This is a perfectly adequate soldering station. It's been fine for the few jobs I've done with it and the temperature control is effective. The tip heats up quite quickly. However, it has to be said that the construction is much more 'light weight' than my old Weller soldering station....The little sponge and it's recess are really quite 'Mickey Mouse'.

      Overall, though, it's fine....

      I needed a high quaility soldering iron for a new speaker project and the Weller Whs40 is pefect for the job. Being able to set the temp means that you can adjust to the type of soldering you are doing and to the type of solder. If you are looking for a professional standard iron then you wont go wrong with this one.

      a brilliant soldering station, i use mine for commercial use in the repairing of arcade machines and it is a tool i could not do without. it heats up very fast and is very comfortable to use, i have had mine over a year now and it is still going strong, it is a must buy for anyone who wants good results when soldering weather its for commercial or home use it will do the job well.

      Un seul reproche à faire : la station est livrée avec une prise anglaise et il faut soit la changer (prise 2 pôles sans terre) ou acheter un adaptateur. La prise étant vissée et non moulée, son changement est simple et n'annulera pas la garantie.

      La station est lourde et très qualitative (transformateur et non alimentation à découpage), elle est fabriquée au Mexique et non pas en Allemagne.
      Le fer est très léger et d'une très bonne finition, il ne chauffe pas les doigts.
      Le fil station/fer à souder est assez souple sans l'être toutefois comme sur les modèles pro.
      Le support de fer est bien fait et une fois enfiché dans la base ne bouge pas du tout.
      L'éponge est pratique et plus épaisse que celles livrées avec les stations chinoises. Je conseille d'acheter un lot de 3 éponges naturelles au supermarché (< 2€), de les laver puis de les faire sécher. Ensuite avec un cuter il suffira de découper les éponges à la bonne taille et épaisseur... Dans une seule éponge on pourra avoir 6 éponges type Weller !
      Le fer chauffe rapidement et l'on choisi sa température grâce à une molette graduée en degrés. C'est simple et très pratique, pas besoin d'affichage digital pour cela.
      La panne livrée est en cuivre/nickel et n'est pas "longue durée", il faudra prévoir de la changer.
      Les pannes sont assez chères mais de qualité Weller...

      S3 Droit en cuivre (livrée en lot de 3), réf : T0054003499
      S31, 3,5 mm, crayon, Longue durée, réf : T0054321099 ou 4SPI15210-1
      S32, 2 mm, Droit, Longue durée, réf : T0054321199 ou 4SPI15211-1
      Pour l'électronique classique, je conseille la S32.

      Cette station est moins "hitech" que les modèles chinois bardés d'écrans LCD et boutons de réglages, mais elle fera un travail identique tout en étant très simple d'utilisation. La qualité Weller est bien présente.
      A conseiller sans réserve, à condition de changer sa prise d'alimentation...

Non siamo a livello professionale dove la potenza di un buon saldatore raggiunge anche i 90W e oltre, però considerando il prezzo è un valido acquisto. Si possono trovare saldatori anche a prezzi molto inferiori, ma anche la resa sarà proporzionata. Avrei preferito anche una punta sostitutiva a corredo, ma purtroppo ho dovuto acquistarla a parte.
