Have to be honest lm a great fan of weleda products but this just didn't do it for me. I have dry sensitive skin and found the over strong scent far too irritating. Weleda baby or weleda almond is so much better.

The Weleda Moisture Cream for Men arrives in a disappointingly small tube, given the price, although the cream itself feels quite rich and goes quite far. The scent is vaguely botanical and sightly medical and mostly seems to smell of Lavender (not my favourite smell) and it does tend to linger for a while after application. As mentioned it's a very rich-feeling cream, slightly waxy, and a little goes quite a long way so the diminutive tube should last longer than you might at first expect. If you over-apply it there's a tendency for it to leave a shiny effect on the skin too, which is something most men will prefer to avoid, so less is certainly more. I also notice that it's best applied to bare clean skin and avoid applying it over any other products, like serums, as it's not very well absorbed when it's not applied directly to skin.

The cream seems to mostly be based on plant oils and waxes and is well tolerated, even by my slightly sensitive skin, with no irritation or side-effects, in fact I find it quite calming and soothing. I can't say I've noticed any real benefits from regular use, there are no obvious anti-ageing effects for example, but it does soothe and feel protective. I think I'd recommend it more fro night-time use, it's rich enough to work as a night cream and has a soothing effect. It does seem over-priced given the small quantity supplied and the (apparent) lack of any real active ingredients, you could spend the same and get more with some other brands, but as a daily moisturiser it's good quality and pleasant enough to use.

This is a nice cream, that I use after shaving.
But...it is soo expensive.
It rubs into the skin ok.
There is a fragrance when applied, but that soon disappears.
I think I will stay with my tried and tested cream that I use.

This fragrant moisturiser aimed at the mens’ market comes in a hygienic opaque tube, making it easy to use, which I like, and it’s probably best for normal, combination, and slightly dry skins not prone to sensitivity. It contains skin identical glycerine with some very good antioxidant rich non-fragrant plant oils of jojoba and sesame oils with anti-irritant, soothing marshmallow extract and beeswax, which are good to see in the formula.

However, mens’ skin can often be sensitive due to the process of daily wet shaving, outdoor work, and sports etc. And although this formula is described as being suitable for sensitive skin, where it takes a misstep is with the inclusion of a lot of alcohol (4th ingredient), witch hazel (5th ingredient) and the added lingering fragrance. All of these are potentially damaging and sensitizing to the skin, but particularly so for sensitive/reactive skins, or a face that’s just gone through the trauma wet shaving can cause. It also lacks the range of skin replenishing and antioxidants ingredients the skin needs to really function and look its best.

Ingredients:

Water (Aqua), Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Alcohol, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Distillate, Glycerin, Glyceryl Oleate, Hydrolyzed Beeswax, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate), Althaea Officinalis Root Extract, Xanthan Gum, Beeswax (Cera Flava), Copernica Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Sodium Beeswax, Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenan), Fragrance (Parfum)*, Limonene*, Linalool*, Benzyl Benzoate*, Geraniol*, Citral*, Coumarine*, Farnesol*. *from natural essential oils.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I've tried a number of expensive and cheap creams for my dry sensitive skin and used to swear by the Clarins Men Super Moisture Balm until realising the Nivea Men Sensitive Moisturiser does the same job at a much cheaper price. Amazon recently provided me with a sample of this Weleda cream, so I decided to see how this fares against my Nivea cream.

The Weleda cream is quite light in consistency and has a slight yellow tint. It emits a nice and subtle fresh lemon, orange and citrus scent (I'm not sure where others are picking up the Lavender scent from). The cream applies nicely with a small amount going a long way. It absorbs quite well and doesn't feel greasy. I can definitely feel a slight tightening effect on my skin a few minutes after application, which I don't actually like, but some may do. In comparison, the Nivea cream is slightly thicker, applies just as well but absorbs better and leaves my skin feeling slightly softer without leaving any tightness. It is also unfragranced and has 0% alcohol, which is generally better for sensitive skin.

Overall, I don't dislike this Weleda cream and would probably recommend it to someone wanting a tighter feeling cream with a fresh fragrance. However, it's not the wonder cream you would be expecting for the much higher price, just like Clarins. I still prefer the Nivea cream on performance and with the considerably cheaper price tag, it's difficult to beat.

Not very good moisture cream. Ingredients are good but I think one can find better alternatives. Sometimes it seemed to dry out my skin after a few hours. Strong smell of lavender if it's your thing. I will not buy again. In general the Weleda men has been a let down.
