You think you know David Weir but, of course you don't. But you will be rewarded with an insight into what makes this remarkable athlete tick after reading his compelling story. --Birmingham Post

Book of the Week --Simon Redfern, The Independent on Sunday

About the Author

David Weir was born with a spinal cord transection that left him without the use of his legs. At school, he was frustrated by the lack of activities available for disabled children, but his prospects were transformed when he discovered a talent for wheelchair racing. He has won a number of marathons, and has competed many times in world championships and at the Paralympic Games. At the London 2012 Summer Paralympics, Weir won four gold medals for Great Britain, taking his total tally up to six golds. He currently holds the national record for track distances up to 5,000m and road distances of 10km, as well as for both the full and half-marathon. In 2009 Weir was awarded an MBE for his outstanding contribution to British sport, and he later received a CBE in the New Year s Honours 2013. He lives in London with his fiancée and their children.

An exceedingly moving account of David's life, both on and off the race track. David has an excellent way of showing how things really are for disabled people, but without wanting anyone to feel sorry for them.

I was privileged to see the Werewolf race on the first evening of London 2012 and this book sums up what an inspiring person he is.

Would really recommend this Bio to anyone involved in sport. Very down to earth and honest journey into the highs and lows involved in participating in elite sport and the discrepancies between able body and disabled sport that still exists

Insightful book charting the rise of the inspirational David Weir. Great to relive the excitement of London 2012, but also to understand the dark times he went through to get there.
