One of the most hotly tipped bands of the year, Marmozets live up to expectations with a style that mixes up a range of different types of rock to make their own unique sound. Yes, it's easy on first listen to name the bands that have, possibly, influenced Marmozets but the way they put all those influences together, sometimes in the same song, is near genius and takes some serious talent and, obviously, love for the music they're representing.
It's Becca Macintyre's vocals you notice first, her accent showing on a few tracks(no bad thing) but she shows depth, power and versatility throughout the album(compare Cry and Vibetech for proof) and, as a female fronting a hard rock/metal band, will no doubt be the focal point in interviews, on stage etc. but the other four members shine throughout to, melding punk/pop/metal/rock n' roll with some tech/math-core thrown in with a drop of indie-rock to, sometimes with overwhelming results.
Personal favourites include Born Young and Free, Why Do You Hate Me?, Particle and pure filth that is Vibetech, but this is an album full of highlights with something for everyone. An awesome new band that deserve their chance to shine.

Having been listening to this album for free on the Amazon Prime Music service for a few weeks, I've actually come into the main store to purchase the CD. The album stands shoulder to shoulder with other well known UK alt-rock bands such as Royal Blood, but takes the heavy riffs to another level. As a musician, I appreciate the few songs with slightly jarring timings and often find myself humming along to songs days later. There are no stand out tracks, no weak ones, just strong song after strong song. Cant wait for the next album.

Brilliant debut album. First saw these little beauties at Download Festival back in June and am lucky enough to get to see them at The Forum (a very small intimate venue) next week. I think they have a bright future and this album is testament to them. Some great hits ("Why Do Tou Hate Me?", "Captivate You" and "Move, Shake, Hide") even a bit of a ballad in "Cry". Great energy to complement quite diverse array of songs. This will be blaring out my speakers for a long time!!

I was scouring the internet, looking for new bands when I came across these guys. From the first song I listened to, which was Move, Shake, Hide, I was captivated by them. I bought their album almost immediately and I haven't regretted it. Each song on the album is an absolute joy to listen to. The vocals, the music and the energy are infectious. I've listened to the album in full countless times and it never gets boring. My personal favourites are Move, Shake, Hide, Born Young and Free and Cry, but there isn't a bad song on the album. There just isn't. This is a must have for fans of rock music. The best album to come out in 2014.

Discovered this band by chance really.

After listening to another band via BBC iPlayer, they caught my eye as I was scrolling through. Glad I found them!!

I now cannot stop listening to their album on my iPod! The whole album is great, but my particular favourites are; Born Young and Free, Why Do You Hate Me?, Captivate You, Partical, Love You Good, and Move, Shake, Hide.

This is a great band! If you get the chance, go and see them live. Beccas stage presence and energy is amazing and the guys are a talented bunch of musicians. Their songs are really catchy and melodic!

Even after one listen I rate this album as the best of the year. Angry, beautiful and well paced album that will hopefully propel this young band to the success they deserve.
