The premise for this novella is fairly unique and CIA agent crashing a wedding to find a mole and a bridesmaid with a fake boyfriend who needs to make an appearance. However, the rest of the novella is fairly straightforward and formulaic as these things usually are.

Beth, the bride's BFF and subject of this story, is a regular curvy girl who is generous (to a fault). She is a bit of a clutz and cares deeply for others but she does not feel special and this is compounded upon by her mother and ex-boyfriend, who is the groom's best man. So to save herself she has created a secret boyfriend, basically to stop her mother meddling in her life.

Alex (the hero) is a typical alpha male working for the CIA but he has some likeable elements to his character and falls heavily for Beth. Alex has his own personal agenda and takes on the persona of Beth's secret boyfriend before he becomes the 'real thing'.

There are funny moments and generally the novella is fast paced and this reader was certainly interested enough to continue reading until the end. There were some laugh out loud moments and some doh! moments but that I suppose is usual.

The erotic parts weren’t nearly as hot as they could have been and this was a serious disappointment. As with all romantic fiction the story is a little far-fetched with the insta-love element. The ending felt rather rushed. An epilogue would have been nice to see how this coupled fared after more than three days.

This is the perfect read for the beach or the 'plane which requires very little input from the reader and provides a great reward if you are able to suspend belief in reality.

Full Disclosure: I received a free copy from Netgalley for an honest review.

Beth is the maid of honor at her best friend's wedding and needs a date. Many years earlier she had created an imaginary boyfriend named Charlie who she used any time she needed a boyfriend so that her friends and family wouldn't bother her about not having a boyfriend. Charlie had come in handy since she invented him in 7th grade. Beth made up an excuse of why Charlie couldn't make it to the wedding but her mother kept at her about why nobody has ever met Charlie so she thought she should somehow have Charlie show up.

Beth accidentally found a man, Alex, trying to break into the best man's car (who is also her ex-boyfriend). She blackmails him with the break in saying she will not tell anyone about it if he will pretend to be Charlie for a few hours at the wedding, just so everyone can actually see Charlie and stop bugging Beth about him.

Alex is more than happy to be Charlie because he is actually working undercover as a CIA agent and is investigating a person attending the wedding and this gives him a perfect opportunity to be at the wedding all weekend. Things get a bit dicy when Beth realizes that Alex (Charlie) is there for the weekend when she only wanted him there for a few hours.

Alex (Charlie) and Beth have great chemistry which surprises both of them. Beth's reaction to Alex's announcement of being a CIA agent is so funny. The entire book had me laughing out loud throughout it. Really Beth handles all the things that don't go the way she expects them to pretty well. Alex is so good to Beth and has promised he would protect her. Which he does as part of his job and because he has feelings for her.

I liked this book and the opportunity to get lost in this hilarious novel. I highly recommend it.

I've enjoyed reading The Wedding Trap. I found it quite a light read, the story is easy to read and not too in-depth. It's perfect for a holiday read or while traveling. I loved the characters, Beth especially, she was strong with a great sense of humour. All through the book there was a mysterious CIA agent and the story ended with him still being a mystery. He was caught but there was no explanation given as to who he was, considering he is a CIA mole, I would've liked to have known who he was and if he was known to Alex and Jordan. I would recommend this story to others and I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series.

Well worthy ten stars this book has everything romance , action , espionage , hit men , attempted murder and yes comedy.
Character's are a girl called Beth who is insecure everything that can happen will happen to her and a sexy handsome Charlie really Alex. Trust me this couple are brilliant the whit and back talk between them is written absolutely brilliantly. The last few chapters although serious also made me laugh literally you can imagine the scenario actually happening Have not enjoyed a book like this for a long time and guess what IT WAS FREE WHAT HAVE YOU GOT TO LOOSE.

The Wedding Trap didn't have the length or depth to meet a five star rating, but what little content there is is very good. The characters are likeable and interesting. The concept is a little unrealistic but given the genre I didn't expect much else. Overall I am impressed and more than a little intrigued by the next installment.

This book had it all.

I download this book as a freebie, and I enjoyed every last bit of it.
There was some typo issues but not many in my eyes.

We met Beth and Alex and we follow their story.
Beth's at her best friends wedding weekend and Alex is finding a way to complete his CIA Mission he needs a way into the wedding, due to a family member of the bride.
Beth tells her family of a boyfriend she has who don't exists and blackmails Alex to play him for 5 minutes however Alex manages to use this to his advantage.

Weddings, romance, overbearing mothers, twists and turns but finally a happy ever after.

One to read for sure
