Having never seen the two main actors in this film act before I was a bit dubious, but like the saying goes the proof of the pudding is in the eating. The plot is fairly predictable, but you find that you are not bothered about that because your enjoying the film too much to care.
All the stars play their parts to mind numbing perfection and the script fairly sizzles in places.
It also has a kind of classic charm to it, usually only found in films of the bygone era.
Certain scenes will have you laughing like a school girl and others will have you cringing with embarassment.
There are no low points in this film and you certainly won't care where the remote is, so sit back and enjoy.

i love this film! i just love romantic films and this is one of the best.

It is predictable, but in a great way. I laugh at the bad reviews because these guys werent really expecting anything more than fun, chick-lit, were they?

i loved that Justin Chambers (Alex Karev in grey's anatomy) was in it and had that strange accent! his character Massimo is so funny!!

if u are looking to be cheered up with fun and romance and dreams coming true, then buy this now!

After missing this at the cinemas, I subsequently watched it on video and to my surprise Jennifer Lopez who is a sensational singer was able to pull off a comedy role. And she did so amazingly well - this film is for those of you who like films that can be watched over and over again. Yes, the ending is predictable as in most romantic comedies ie. the girl gets the boy of her dreams and vice versa, but thats what makes them what they are - so fun to watch, and whats wrong with a happy ending every now and then!?

Before Jennifer Lopez appeared in this film, i had been told that she was not the best actress and although i like her songs she isnt exactly the best singer in the world. So i did start to wonder why she was actually famous. But then i watched The Wedding Planner and found that she was a brilliant actress and managed to pull off comedy and romance all in one. She definitely has a natural talent for acting and i think this film is great for a girly night in.

What a beautiful break from all the violent, humourless and stressful films that are currently the "vogue" of movies. Especially worth watching after a hard day's work -- relaxing, enjoyable and funny!

In The Wedding Planner Jennifer Lopez acts as a woman who sets up weddings for other people but who is very cynical about the
ceremony herself (we find out why during the course of the film).She falls in love with Matthew Mcconaughey who is engaged to one of her friends and tries to do the right thing by helping them to get married.The Wedding Planner,itself,tries to be an old-fashioned movie from fifty or so years ago set in modern times.It succeeds in doing this but there are big errors in the script (in one instance the characters are delivered some news that in real life I'm sure would have left people speechless but in the storyline they accept with nonchalance).Nevertheless,Mcconaughey and Lopez are engaging enough to make this a film worth seeing.
And with all the sets for weddings it is visually striking.

The Wedding Planner does exactly what it says on the tin: it is cheesy, feel-good, cosy romantic-comedy fare perfect for a girly night in.

Basically Jennifer Lopez appears to have the perfect life. She is a high-powered business woman: a successful wedding planner who magically makes all your wedding fantasies come true. But behind closed doors she is actually a single-lady living at home, who spends her free-time hanging out with her father at his retirement home. Enter handsome doctor, Matthew McConaughey, whom Lopez immediately falls for, only to discover that he is the fiancé of one of the big weddings she is planning. Chaos ensues as both must decide whether to follow their hearts or heads.

The story is good and while it might seem a tad predictable at the beginning, it quickly sheds any assumptions we mght be quick to form. In fact the final few scenes will come as a surprise to many viewers. The movie moves at a nice pace: unlike so many romantic-comedies the story is always progressing. A side story regarding Lopez's other love interest is very well-handled. One scene with a doll house comes to mind. The script is a little weak in places but this is not a major problem. It really only means that if you want to go make a cup of tea in the middle of this movie, you won't be too lost.

Personally I like Jennifer Lopez as an actress and I think she plays this role excellently. One really feels they can understand her by the end of the movie, and the decisions she ends up making. McConaughey is alright though he does seem to suffer from Lopez's star presence. It is not that he is terrible. True he isn't too bad on the eye but at times I didn't really find him a convincing love interest. He seems a bit too-laid back to be taken seriously.Read more ›

This is a great love story!!!! I am a big fan of romantic comedies and as with brilliant movies like Bridget jones, 10 things I hate about you and Nottinghill, it has a lovely story line about sacrificing you future and everything you know about love for something completely crazy. J-Lo got into role VERY WELL i was amazed with her performance as i was with Matthew McConaughey's. He played a very sexy doctor and if you like Matthew, u need to see this movie. It was completely hilaroius as well as touching by turns. If you like Bridget Jones, you'll love this.
