and after using it a lot the way it rest on the door frame, it leaves BIG dints and brakes, so i suggest to buy stick thick pads to place onto the frames.
Other than that the bar is awesome, very easy to put together, instruction manual included, super easy to store out of the way and then hook it on whenever needed
The only downside of the chin up bar is that the two wide handles that support of the front of the door may eventually leave a mark on the door and 'bruise' the wood. Other than that very much recommend it for those keeping fit at home or trying to get a headstart before attempting pull ups in public :)
It is a decent bit of kit, but I bought it to do chin-ups; the curvature of the fixing arm/brace is huge so it does not sit on the doorframe at an effective 90°, so you lose a few inches when you are doing your chin-ups.
This was a replacement recommended by my brother that I suppose I did not actually need; funnily enough, he has the same problem, he just failed to tell me/is less fussy. Basically I opened it too late to return it.
I've done hundreds of pullups on it has held strong.
However in saying that I get the feeling that one day it will just snap and that'll be the end of it. It can also make a bit of a mess of your door frame, I suggest adding some padding between the bar and the door frame.
In saying that the multiple grip positions are great, when you burn out doing wide grip pullups you can change to a narrower or underhand grip.
My rule was, "Any time I walked through the doorway I had to do a pullup", worked wonders!
I hope this review helps someone.
Bad thing is that it is very loss on the door frame. I was planning to use this product for leg raises and windmills (dont know the proper name) . This will be extremely dangerous on an unstable platform. I contacted the seller but they were not helpful . They denied my unstable claime and said it was the first time they got such a complaint.
