Chimamanda at her best. The simplicity and clarity in use of the English language is what I like about this book. The topic itself, being African I guess culture has taught me not to be feminist. While I appreciate the arguments she puts across I am not sure it's a cause worth picking up arms for. All form of oppression is evil. Evil comes under the guise of racism, male oppression, war, witchcraft etc. Deal with the root cause, evil, then we won't have all these guises.

This book opened my eyes to what it actually means to be described as a feminist.....This issue is still very much relevant....... And will continue to be so until both sexes are treated on equal terms ....It shows how far we have in our thinking but also that we still have a long way to go before we can truly say that the world treats men and women as equals .....I have hope especially as the mother of a 5 yr old daughter.....That in her lifetime she will not experience any discrimination because she is a girl! Thank you Adichie for writing such a thought inspiring book!!

Brilliant Essay by Adichie. This should be a must-read for all those who calls themselves feminists, or those who want to learn more about it. It is short and concise and really gets to the heart of the issue. Definitely makes you want to listen to the full TED Talk.
