About the Author

Mary Campisi writes emotion-packed books about second chances. Whether contemporary romances, women's fiction, or Regency historicals, her books all center on belief in the beauty of that second chance. Mary should have known she'd become a writer when at age thirteen she began changing the ending to all the books she read. It took several years and a number of jobs, including registered nurse, receptionist in a swanky hair salon, accounts payable clerk, and practice manager in an OB/GYN office, for her to rediscover writing. Enter a mouse-less computer, a floppy disk, and a dream large enough to fill a zip drive. The rest of the story lives on in every book she writes. When she's not working on her craft or following the lives of five young adult children, Mary's digging in the dirt with her flowers and herbs, cooking, reading, walking her rescue lab mix, Cooper, or, on the perfect day, riding off into the sunset with her very own hero/husband on his Ultra Limited aka Harley. Mary has published with Kensington, Carina Press, and The Wild Rose Press. website: marycampisi.com e-mail: mary@marycampisi.com blog: marycampisi.com/blog/ twitter: twitter.com/#!/MaryCampisi facebook facebook.com/marycampisibooks

Enjoyed this story. Well written and kept me reading most of it in one sitting. It loses a star because it did feel a little rushed in places. Don't want to ruin the story by giving too much detail but some matters were resolved swiftly. However this was probably the author's intention, perhaps because the romance was more imporant to her than the sub plot? This is a good romance and I would recommend giving it a try if you like Mills & Boons type romances with a bit more flesh. I will definately try this author again.

to think two months ago i had never read a book by Mary Campisi and now i would rate her as one of my favorite authors, the story is well written and the characters lovable, even the ones you hate. the story is of young love that drifted apart who come back together to deal with love, loss, grief, betrayal and lies so as you can see its all in there, its so hard to write a review when the story was so good because im scared i will give too much away so all i will say is buy this amazing book you will not be disapointed...

There has to be a good story line that doesn't start out with one of the main characters outright lying or deceiving the person they supposedly love. It made me so mad reading this that I skipped the whole middle section of the book and just read the first few chapters and the last few.

I really loved this story read in 1 day could not put it down.
They say that you never forget your 1st love, well for Rourke Flannigan and Kate Redmond this is true. At 18yrs old they fall in love and vow to spend the rest of their life's together. However disaster strikes and they are torn apart.
Kate know's she will never love anyone the way she love's Rourke.
Then 14 years later their path's cross again when fate brings them face to face once again.

I've not been having much luck recently finding a book to interest me and I've just been plodding through the usual predictable boring same as usual romances so it was a refreshing change when I got this book for free and actually loved it! Plus it is the first time of me reading anything by this author and I was impressed. The story is about Kate and Rourke (I love his name) and how they had each other at 18 years old but lost each other soon after. The first few pages of the start of a book are always the most memorable and this book captured me from the first page with such a feeling of sadness and of lost love. I also loved the constant drama and of never knowing what was going to happen next which kept me interested. The only negative I have about the story is that the epilogue was far to short and finished too abruptly for me. I would have liked to have known more about the future of Kate and Rourke and what happened afterwards. I feel that so much more could have been written about their relationship and their HEA but I still loved this story and the writing of this author. I will go on to read another one now and hope I am just as captivated.
