I have to say that I have mixed feelings toward this book. I first read it about four years ago. I have recommended it to a few people and bought it for a few others.
Four years ago I thought it was the best book ever written. A book so profound and so powerful that it did nothing less than jump-start my awareness. I loved it and I recommended it to anyone and everyone I could. This was four years ago.
In those four years I have matured a great deal. I have read books not dissimilar to this and have become more aware (spirtually, I suppose you could say). It has been a long four years and my point is this; although it is a profound and moving book it should not be regarded as gospel. This book is good but (and I think Mr. Millman might agree with me on this) you really have to find your own way with it. Over the years the book has, personally speaking, lost its power and I now disagree with quite a lot of what it says. However, it was a starting point for me and it did show me the way to better things. It was a bit like a kind of signpost really.
I am sure that most people will gain something from its pages.
