I discovered the 1st lights of peril book by accident - i read alot of books, so it takes alot for a book to make a lasting impression - but that was exactly what the 1st book did to me and therefore when i knew there was a 2nd book on the way, it was instantly on my to read list and i was not disappointed. I started to read this book expecting the storyline to go a certain way, but no i was so wrong and that what i love about this author - strong amazing unpredictable storylines, which have you gripped to the end. Doesn't get much better than this :)

Book 2 picks up with Sadey, Shame and Mace trying to move on with their lives while dealing with all the issues with the club. Sadey isn't doing well, she visits and continues to talk to Hem all the time and is finding it hard to born with her mini Hem. She finally realises that she need to leg him go for her sanity and for her son. Faces from the past come back into all their lives, causing conflicts within the club family and bringing fear back to the lives of everyone. There are surprises along the way but I am so happy with the way things turned out. Can't wait for Shame's book.

The first book Holding On left me in tears and an emotional mess towards the end, therefore when The Way Home came out I was nervous and less excited in wanting to read it. Now boy did I get my perceptions of this book so wrong! Shame on me ;-) lol! This book played with my emotions and had my heart out of beat! I totally loved the ride home and how the story picked up from Hem's death. Sadey is stuck in Hem's memories and struggles with being a mother to Patrick, so she withdraws from everyone, but Shame is their for her and I fell more in love with him, he was so sweet and gentle, he made her see that she wasn't the only one suffering as Mace had lost her entire family, this awakened Sadey to start living for her son and finally say goodbye to Hem. AC Bextor's writing style was so beautiful and heartbreaking in covering the loss of a loved one, she made you feel Sadey's pain, as she reflected back on her relationship with Hem, the snippets of them together as children tugged at the heartstrings, and I had to keep it together to keep turning the pages. Ace's return was expected and he played with Sadey's fragile state, whilst she tried to piece back her life and her feelings for him. As Shame takes over as the President of the mc club, new threats are discovered and Sadey's safety becomes a priority. There are twists and turns as new revelations take place and Sadey girl's world is again turned upside down! Brilliant second book, I loved Shame, and how all the mc clubhouse members pulled together as a family facing grief, and supported Sadey and Patrick. I loved loved the hea, so elated now lol, I can't wait to read Shame's story Toxic in April!!

I loved the 2nd book in this Lights of Peril series although as others have pointed out, it did need better editing. But that didn't take away the fact that it is a great story with lots of biker passion and angst which I love. I also won't spoil it but there is a great twist in the story with lots of drama which makes for a great read. There was mention at the end that a 3rd book is coming out about Shame but I hope it isn't just about his childhood as I want to see things from his point of view when he gets with Mace and I hope it grips me just as much as the first two books in this series. I would like a story about Cherry and Ace and it would be nice to see how their relationship develops when they move to California or even Gunner. The list is endless and I hope this author continues to write such fab biker books.

I still find it a little over the top and don't understand the librarian friend contribution to the story BUT these are very small points because other than that - I am hooked!!!! I read these books in a matter of 48 hours and enjoy them intensely. The author has amazing skills and each character and situation is clearly defined for me. These books are so well written that you feel empathy and happiness and lots of different emotions as the story unfolds. Love it...can't wait to start the next.

Owing give the story away but I will say if you haven't read this series yet then your missing out, Hem,Shame,Ace,Honor,Gunner & Hood are all hot, sexy and very interesting in totally different ways. Please read this series you will not be disappointed. I can't Waite for more from these guys xx

The first instalment has me sobbing my heart out at the end, this time I'm smiling (thankfully)
The emotive writing is just beautiful and so touching. I can't say much about the story as this is one novel where you do not want a spoiler, trust me because there is a huge surprise in the book which really really needs to be waited on and savoured so you get the whole oh my god, she didn't just write that in etc in full effect.
I eagerly await book 3 of this series.
