This product cleans as well as if not better that the sonicare but is much much cheaper. The only complaint I have is that the product is much bigger. Not an issue but the Sonicare was a much neater product and fitted in the bathroom cabinet more easily!
The product seems to be on sale with other distributors on Amazon at a much higher price under a different listing but why pay more!
After doing some research on the net, I decided to buy one of these. This brush has been available on amazon in US for a good while, and at time of writting it had 48 reviews averaging 4.5stars. I only paid 35pounds elsewhere for this brush. The sensonic is my 1st sonic brush. The brush heads are just like manual brush heads. They work simply by rotating the stem by the smallest degrees in back&forth, but at a very high repetition rate ~30000/min. I like the sonic principle. Unlike conventional rotary heads there is no wear for bacteria to gather in the back of the head or stem.
The brush has a single button that switches it speed1/speed2/off. The brush also has an led light. Whilst charging the led flashes until the battery becomes full at which point the led is constant. Like many other brushes the brush operates for 2mins with a pulse at 30/60/90 seconds (ie for each quadrant). Personally I like the simple operation of the unit. 9/10
The unit has a nimh battery. On a full charge it will last me 7days which is about 21 brush cycles on the high speed setting. It takes about 12 to 14 hours to recharge the unit from empty to full. The slow charge rate is a bit annoying but I am hoping it should give the battery a longer life in terms of years. I have read about other sonic brushes that fail due to the lifespan of the battery. For this reason I only charge the brush when it needs it and don't leave charging whilst on the base once the led turns solid. My other gripe, is that the clever electronics inside the brush, notice when the battery is approaching empty as there will be small drop in voltage. At this point the brush automatically switches it self off. It does this to avoid fully discharging the batteries. The reason being that fully discharging nimh batteries can cause premature failure due to the the stronger cell forcing the weaker cell into reverse polarity, effectively ruining the battery. This is all good for long battery life, but it does mean that the brush doesn't give you much warning that its soon going to stop and need recharging. In short it doesn't gradually slow down, it abruptly stops. Overall 8/10
I find the brush does a very good job or cleaning my teeth. I also enjoy the experience. At 1st the bristles are a little ticklish to the gums (I'm not the only reviewer to comment on this), but my gums soon adjusted to the sensation. Although the brush is powerful, it is also quite smooth, and doesn't cause any unpleasant vibration through my teeth like the old braun did. On the high speed setting the sonic principle of imparting energy to saliva is clearly evident. However I still find myself needing to floss regularly. The brush head keeps itself reasonably clean as there is no grooves and gaps for bacteria to grow. Overall 9/10
have used sonicare toothbrushes over the last 14 years and found them very good, but the cost of the brushheads made me look to find an alternative, I am so pleased I did, having now used this product for a few months I can honestly say the results are excellent it does a very good job of cleaning the teeth and gums as you would expect but it does actually reduce plague which as good as the sonicare was never gave such impressive results, my husband as actually continued to use this model where previously he gave up after a couple of weeks saying his normal brushing regime was better and he his a difficult person to please where it comes to his teeth!
As a bonus the brush heads are reasonabley priced which is always a plus, this product is well worth the money
Try it you won't be disappointed.
