My flosser is 13 months old and came with e 3 year warranty so when the hand held gun failed I assumed I would e covered for a replacement part.
How wrong I was. I telephoned Waterpik to be told that only the motor is covered. This not what is states in the Owners Handbook.
Very disapointed and I wont be replacing it with a Waterpik. I'll be trying Bosch next.
Yes you have to use it over a sink and things can get a bit messy. Yes it can cause a bit of bleeding but it also clears up that problem with a few days of regular use. My hygienist who did not know I had started to use it simply commented that I should carry on doing whatever I was doing.
My normally chatty dentist poked around my mouth in silence and said very little.
The device appears to have been designed by a committee over which the accountant had too much influence. It is light and flimsy and does not exude quality with its light weight and rattly little pump. There should be more weight in the thing to give it a bit of stability. The water tube to the head should be silicon so that it stretches more easily and does not threaten to pull the whole unit off its shelf.
The detachable reservoir is good, the storage in the lid is a disaster. You have to remove the lid completely to fill the tank. Filling the tank under a tap requires two hands so you need to find a sterile surface in you bathroom to put it down on, or wash it each fill. Meanwhile all the stored implements fall out. Don’t use the storage. The lid really ought to be attached.
Tip, slightly warm water makes the thing a lot pleasanter to use and goes a little way to softening the tube.
This verges on an essential piece of kit, I wish I had got one years ago and despite the negatives I would buy again.
Everything to love about this model.
The filler tank capacity allows for a good amount of jetting time and removing the lid to top up mid cleanse is easy.
The lid also doubles as storage for extra cleansing heads so keeps them safe and out of view. If you're like me you'll probably only use one favourite head anyway.
The on/off rocker switch easy to operate, easy to locate.
The power cable the perfect length. Will satisfy bears. (not too long, not too short - just right)
The hand held section is on a easy self coiling tube which packs away single handedly - completely unfiddly.
There is a pause button on the handheld that is useful.
The jet head rotates to any angle.
Removing the jet head is a simple pop and click action.
The pressure set dial is nice and chunky and easy to operate.
Not the first water flosser I've owned but way way way the best looking and best functionality.
As quiet as you'd expect for a powerful little pump.
Overall this is a wonderfully designed and fantastically purposeful piece of kit.
Well worth the money (I paid a little under 60pounds uk)
Five Big Fat Stars
When I first started using it I had to turn it down to clean that area because it was painful and made it bleed but this kind of sensitivity is normal when your gum isn't so healthy. Now I use it on the highest setting all over and it's perfectly comfortable - evidence of better gum health!
It's worth mentioning that you are supposed to use this with your mouth closed and use your sense of touch to guide you. If you don't it will be very messy, especially as the button STOPS the flow, not starts it. Put it in your mouth before you start it!
I think for the future I'll prefer to get the one that fits on a tap, it cost more but it will be better to have something that last for the long run rather than something I need to replace every 2-3 years.
