This is the best watercolour starter book I have ever seen and I have seen and bought quite a few. My granddaughter discovered it in The Paper Warehouse in the Lake District, I bought it and devoured it. I thought it was so good I bought two more copies for my grandchildren from Amazon on my return home. It not only inspired me to actually have a go, the children [boy 12 & girl 13] have each produced some very good pictures of the early exercises. It pleases me that they are so inspired and it is because the content is shown so straightforwardly and simply. I am sure most people will want to have a go after reading the book. I have now backed up the initial purchase with the DVD series.A Brush With Art - The Complete Watercolour Course [DVD] and the excellent little book from CollinsCollins 30-Minute Painting - Watercolours

This really is a lovely little book and ahough I paint I am not very good with water colours. The first time I painted using this book I was really impressed. I showed me how to create shading, colours etc. It is not very in depth but worth the money. I painted some flowers on a card for my mum and she liked it.
