Shawn....I knew it, you naughty little devil, hehe. What have we been saying in Jay's Facebook group about you protesting too much, eh?? Glad to see we were spot on...and you like being dominated too, well colour me shocked!! ;), I wasn't happy about you still being in denial and taking it out on everyone else in the house, tut tut. Jude had the patience of a saint...good job he wanted you so much. 4.5 stars.

Do we get to hear about Ben next?? He hardly made an appearance, so he's a blank page as far as we're concerned. Great read Jay. <3

Worthy addition to the Housemates series. I'd been looking forward to Shawn's story and it didnt disappoint. Jude was the perfect partner for him. Way hotter than the previous books in the series, enjoyed getting up to date with characters from the previous books. I really enjoy Jay Northcote's writing.

Jeeze Jay this book is hot. Probably the sexiest so far in the Housemates series but still packed with all the world building and character development I'd expect in a story from this author.

There's loads of tension and sexual exploration as Shawn, confused and conflicted after breaking up with his girlfriend, discovers that new housemate Jude is running a webcam show twice a week to help fund his university costs.

He can't help but watch Jude's performance one evening and he finds himself not only turned on, but also questioning his sexual orientation when he realises he's physically attracted to his fellow housemate.

Jude is openly gay and confident enough to put on a show twice a week as a way of getting extra funding. He's not been living in the shared house long but he's noticed Shawn but has stuck clear, thinking he was straight.

Once it becomes clear that isn't the case, Jude gets Shawn involved in his webcam show to help him get some extra cash to help pay off his overdraft. During their sessions, he also discovers Shawn loves it when he can just let go and leave it all up to Jude.

What follows is a journey of sexual exploration and discovery, of finding yourself and finding the confidence to open up your heart to love, even if it comes in a different form than you might have expected.

There are bumps along the way, Shawn has been conditioned to think being gay is associated with being a sissy, being weak. He hurts Jude unintentionally when he denies there's anything going on between them. He panics and lashes out at his bisexual and gay housemates and friends and runs away from acknowledging his own bisexuality.

This tale can be read as a standalone, but as other characters from the series pop up in the tales - which features student/type couples living in two student houses next door to each other - it's best to read them in order. They're well-written, with proper storylines and with decent characters you end up liking, rooting for and believing in, and they end in (what I believe is) a HEA or the start of one. Anyway, that's my take on it, despite their relatively young ages.

In this tale, we meet Shawn, the one 'straight' guy living in a house of mainly gay guys in happy relationships and tbh, at the start he's a real pillock and I didn't like him. Not to the degree that I wanted to smack him, but as I've got a son this age, I really wanted to tell him to grow up and get with real life. But, shortly into the tale, he grew up a bit, found his nads and became a more decent character. I liked that he had the courage to admit his shortcomings and that his housemates didn't let him off easily, and that he seemed to have learned his lesson. The other lead, Jude, is a decent guy, but also a responsible one who's looking out for his future - in a non-conventional way, but kudos to him. He's a decent flatmate and when things come to light, he's prepared to share his pot of earnings with Shawn, who by then has become more friend than simply a housemate.

The tale follows the blurb pretty faithfully and it's a hot, steamy, sexy and actually, rather erotic read. A lot of it takes place on camera and it's entirely consensual and I loved seeing the guys take their relationship from a 'for pay' one to a 'for real' one. It does have quite a lot of sex in it compared to others in the series, but it also has realism and the guys talk, plan and discuss their future like grown-ups.

I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

This book is deliciously naughty. The housemates of the UK’s most depraved university residence are back and this might be the filthiest book yet. I absolutely loved it. When angst ridden closet case Shawn walks in on Jude’s live sex show, he finds himself obsessed with his hot roommate. Exhibitionist Jude loves being watched but he’s torn between his attraction to Shawn and Shawn’s ugly homophobic behaviour.

Shawn’s awkward, fumbling and conflicted post-adolescent angst is brilliant. Themes of sexual awakening and first time explorations have run through this series from the start and Shawn’s first experiences might be my favourite so far. Jude is a performer - he loves entertaining his fans during his live webcam shows. He is sexy, confident and uninhibited. Together, when Shawn agrees to join Jude for a live show (just because he’s broke - of course) the chemistry between Shawn and Jude is explosive. With Jude’s help, Shawn’s journey of self-discovery is awkward, naughty and gloriously filthy.

I’m sure this is marketed as erotica - and it probably should be. But the magic in this series lies in the writing. This is playful, fun erotica with well developed characters. I love that the author sticks with HFN and refuses to end new adult fiction with unnatural HEAs. These boys may be having the sex that most uni students can only fantasize about, but the author captures their student lives perfectly. The combination of the playful, the mundane and the explicit makes this series very special.
