Waspinator is the award winning and best selling wasp repellent. It works like a scarecrow for wasps, they think it is an enemy nest and that they will be attacked by the nest's defenders if they get too close, so they fly away to somewhere else where they don't feel threatened. Next door's garden perhaps. Sold as a pack of two units.
Two Waspinator wasp repellent bags.

After a successful, wasp-free year throughout 2016, I was disappointed when these eventually fell to pieces thorugh general exposure to the weather. I was impressed enough thtat I bought another pair for 2017 and put them up in early April. They lasted until mid-July. It looks like the UV from the sun has simply perished parts of the fabric (based on the printed pattern), to the extent that the fabric simply tears and crumbles. It's not possible to attachs these to the tree any more and I barely got 3 months use from them. I dfon't know if 2017 has been particularly sunny compared to 2016, but this seems to be a pretty serious design problem. On the basis that they didn't even last a quarter of the year and have, arguably fallen apart before the peak wasp season, I'm reducing my rating from 4 stars to 2. It's a real shame - they have been really effective, but it's ridiculous that they fall apart after only 3 months!
These really work. We've got several fruit trees in our garden and towards the end of summer we've always had a problem with wasps. Last year in early spring I put two of these fake wasps nests up. One in a silver birch tree at the end of the garden, the other in a plum tree closer to the house. We had several BBQs throughout the year and were never once bothered by wasps - even when the plums started getting ripe.
If they work so well, why do they only get 4 stars? The disappointment for me is that they only lasted a year - despite being positioned in the shade of a tree, the fabric of both bags simply perished over the course of the year, with both of them falling on the floor in October. So they lasted about 9 - 10 months.
I will be buying some more because they were so very effective - it's just a shame they're not made to withstand the environment they're being used in.
Up until now (touch wood) we have not had any wasps bothering us. The very odd one has flown near then gone again.
I know it is not very scientific, but it seems to be working.
