Format: Paperback
In this world of instant gratification, our children have little or no concept of rationing, especially the rationing of World War II. This book describes the basic concept of rationing in ways children will be able to grasp and digest. It describes the reasons for rationing, and which items were most severely rationed, as well as gives a few interesting recipes that utilized the products that were most available in England during the war. Children may find it difficult to understand some of the reasons for rationing or how the process really worked, but this book does a great job at beginning that process. The photos are especially helpful, and enjoyable. This book would be helpful if teaching WWII history to younger children and older children may find it useful as well.

An easy and interesting read, especially for primary school children. Plenty of illustrations as well as some recipes for them to try.
