It's a simple, very action packed game with an interesting story that actually got my attention and made me care more about the game than I originally expected, like the premise of it definitely. The gameplay is fun and typical of Warriors style games.
The Stage Customisation mode seems to offer a ton of replayability and depth, there is a serious amount of fanservice in more ways than one for dedicated fans of the series as well as other games by the publishler and developers.
It's not as serious as it may appear, it does have a fair share of wackiness to it and the game is just utter chaos. Not as much as Sengoku Basara (but that's Capcom, what to expect? haha) and Hyrule Warriors in some ways possiby but like Hyrule Warriors and Sengoku Basara, I definitely enjoy this game a lot too!
So much value for money, it goes quite cheap now too and if you're interested in it or these style of games, I recommend it especially.
So, if you're looking for a game to 'switch off' to, this is an excellent choice. But if you're looking for something that tests your intelligence, you'd better look elsewhere.
The main pro of playing this on the Wii U is the fact you don't need to switch on your TV since you can play the whole game on the GamePad. This also works in local coop, where one player can use the GamePad and the other can use the TV, so no split-screen and text obscuring what little you could see in the first place.
When you see the trailers you only see the hack and slash part, the on-screen map plays a vital part since
different area's require your attention. Tip. Pause the game, save the battle regularly and check the battle log since it shows who is requesting help and where that person is on the map. If you don't save regularly you need to go through the battle again.
Lot's of content, some strategy, awesome moves which can be used to wipe out lot's of enemies.
The only thing I really dislike is that the Wii U port "phases" enemies in and out to relieve the strain on the system, and that means that often you won't see enemies until you're up close.
The Wii U version offers what I like to call "splitless" split screen allowing co-op players to have their own screen.
There is some pop in cause by a less than thorough optimisation but is still enjoyable
