The more recent efforts I've found to be a lot less accessible. Back in the day, the lobby's were small-ish, and you had a good idea where you were going. These days, half of the challenge in these games seems to be working out where to go next. The fact they have to guide you with light-blue studs which may or may not take you to where you want to go, just adds to the frustration! It's just not as fluent as it used to be in my opinion. I also feel there's less emphasis on puzzles, and more on fighting, which is a real shame. Don't get me started on Lego Clone Wars. I was in danger of getting RSI, the amount I mashed the square button!
Lego Jurassic World certainly strikes a better balance, in that there is less fighting, and a bit more puzzling. There are still some "WHERE AM I GOING?!" moments. But definitely not as many as Lord of the Rings, or Lego Movie. Of course, if you love the film series, you'll adore the references. I am loving how they treat any character played by Samuel L Jackson (I'll let you find out for yoursefl!).
But like all Lego games, perseverance pays off. Once you've worked out how to charge a dino, and where to drive the jeeps, you'll be cruising around chasing that platinum trophy. For the price, you are getting so much content it's staggering. Obviously you're playing with your kids (right?) and ultimately it's them that Lego are targetting. But there were definite times where I heard "Dad, I'm stuck" and had to help the lad out (he's 9). So bear that in mind!
Well actually a few more, or several.
Lego Jurrassic World spans all 4 of the films to date and stays faithful and true to the stories with the stunning music from all the films making its presence known immediately. Also with real film dialogue you're driven to feel for the characters as you were in the films and you want to keep pushing on to find the next major set piece and see the T-Rex kick some Raptor ass. 4/5 would kick again
