I love Samantha Towle’s books, and while this one was really good, I didn’t think it lived up to her usual standard as the plot twist was a tad too obvious to me. That aside though, it was seriously well written with a fantastic cast of characters who draw you in and take you with them on their rollercoaster ride. When things take a turn for the worse, you feel like your heart is breaking right along with theirs. I love it when stories get you emotionally involved, Towle is really good at doing this. I think the first meeting between Vaughn and Charly was one of the best parts of the book. It was so funny and awkward; I know it’s a scene that’s going to stick with me as it’s definitely memorable. Actually there were a few memorable moments but I’m not going to spoil them for you by listing them here. Character wise, Charly is a nice, normal girl who has a bit of bite to her and while you can see the attraction between her and Vaughn, you will occasionally wonder what she sees in him. Vaughn is a nice guy but he has issues and sometimes those issues cause him to say and do some horrible things. So be warned, there will definitely be times when Vaughn is not your favourite person.
This is a book packed with humour and emotion. You will laugh, you will cry and you’ll probably need to keep YouTube handy as the story mentions more than half a dozen songs that will help you interpret the mood of the situation/character. Personally, I loved Vaughn and Charly’s story and am hoping that we might get to see a little more of them in Breaking Hollywood.
Sexual content: Frequent and explicit
You instantly fall in love with Charly and it's not long until you realise she has a back story some things we get to know early on but there's much more, which we are kept waiting on, what we do know is that Nick is the only person she counts as family.
Charly's a great character, full of life dispite her past and as she lands her dream job as Wardrobe assistant to Hollywoods Heartthrob Vaughn West there's a mixture of happiness and anticipation.
There are some extremely funny scenes early on, I was laughing so much but as the storyline builds so does the chemistry between Charly and Vaughn but because Vaughn has been told to behave he treats Charly as forbidden fruit but of course that doesn't last long.
This story creates plenty of mixed emotions, Charly and Vaughn are really good together and it frustrates you that they are having to sneak around, you know Charly has her reasons and this only causes more intrigue.
When Vaughn takes Charly home to meet his family and to his sisters wedding you can't help thinking... this is going too well. There are a couple of times where Samantha Towie throws you especially Grandma's boyfriend Ed, I thought for a minute he was going to be someone Charly knew and that is because we still don't know everything about her past.
Well you are right to think it was all going to smoothly, you knew the inevitable is going to happen.. it does big time!
From this point on this story takes a different turn, it becomes heartbreakingly emotional, you feel for both of them equally and you can understand Vaughn's outburst but he doesn't know the full story... by this time we do!
For a moment I thought this might be a cliff hanger, the whole mystery between Charly and Nick was heartbreaking and you would never have guessed that was it and when Charly turns up at Vaughn's home and he turns her away... Well by this stage I was really crying my eyes out.
All I can say is thank goodness for Grandma's words of wisdom, just as Charly thought she had lost everything Vaughn came through... oh it was a beautiful moment and as for the epilogue we couldn't have asked for more.. absolutely fabulous!
I look forward t what ever comes next.
Thank you Samantha Towie!
And ended with me hugging my kindle in glee because not only is this romantic comedy a jovial, fun and sexy read but it was the perfect lighthearted escapism that I never knew I was craving, until now!
I'm a sucker for Hollywood romances and yes, I've read a few but Wardrobe Malfunction by far is now one of my absolute favourites.
Vaughn and Charly's story is a laugh a minute but it has so much heart and honesty that you cannot help but fall in love with them in equal measure. Yes, our hero is gorgeous, witty and highly amusing but it was Charly who I admired as she held her own admirably given her position and I do love a strong heroine who isn't afraid to take a gamble on Hollywood's golden boy.
I don't want to go into a story overview because this is one you have to just delve in and enjoy for yourself as you travel from New York, to Vegas to Oregon and back. Charly and Vaughn's journey is a pleasurable, fun and lighthearted read that will put a smile on your face and another notch on the romcom favourite list.
Samantha Towle does it again!
5 shiny pins.
I mean, stars!!! ;)

Overall a nice heartwarming read.
I love her books
Das buch war super lustig aber auch sehr romantisch. ich hab es geliebt zu lesen. Ein absolutes muss. Die autorin hat es wieder geschafft mich zu begeistern.
Loved the story and the character's . Good storyline and sad its over.
Definitely looking for more audio books from this author!
I laughed so much during this, Charly and Vaughan are so fun together.
I haven't read a good Hollywood romance in quite a while, so I found the timing of this story beautifully refreshing. Vaughn West is an A-list movie star just coming down from a tabloid scandal. Charly Michaels is a wardrobe assistant who just landed a job on the set of Vaughn's next film. The storyline Towle crafted for these characters was just...so... right. Adorable. Sexy. Funny. It's everything a light and sweet romance should be. Everything from the sexy banter to the delicious pace to the unexpected moments of angst and heartbreak were just SO GOOD.
I love the celebrity element in this story, the fame, the glitz, the decadence. There's something so delicious about a story set upon the pedestal of Hollywood. There's a sense of unavailability in Hollywood, this feeling of a movie star being untouchable to the rest of us. And, honestly, there's no greater fantasy for anyone than a celebrity falling in love with them. Undeniably, that's what all of our romance dreams are made of. But so much sweeter, to be honest, is the simplicity of a romance between a regular guy and a regular girl. Lucky for us, in Wardrobe Malfunction, Samantha Towle gives us both. She creates this megastar who has it all, success, fame, wealth, privilege, and she makes him a relatable, sweet, flawed guy-next-door with a funny family and the desire to settle down with the right girl. With obstacles at every turn, both the cliche Hollywood-type drama and the kind of troubles any couple faces when secrets and jealousy and love are involved, this story is as angsty as it is romantic, as trying as it is satisfying.
This story is perfectly paced, packed with sharp banter, and laced with just the right amount of conflict that's timed just right. I devoured Wardrobe Malfunction in one sitting. This story is sexy and oh so steamy. It's a story of falling in love when the timing is all wrong but the chemistry is just right. It's a Cinderella story where the Prince of Hollywood finds himself reluctantly chasing the off-limits girl who mends his clothes. It's smart and witty and romantic and I laughed as often as I swooned. This one is a win!
Ms. Towle is a new-to-me author whose books I'm finally glad to have read beginning with this one. Because this romantic comedy was an amazing read that I loved from start to finish, due to the wonderful main characters that face some tough obstacles, the well-written dialogue that had me alternating between laughing and crying, and the fast-paced plot that really flew by until I couldn't believe how quickly I was at the end. Really, this story was addictive and I loved the way it started with what happens to Vaughn, which sends him into a downward spiral until someone finds a way to help him.
As for the dialogue, it was intense due to the main characters back stories. Charly lost those she loved growing up, and the only family she has is her best friend; a guy she would do anything for, which is proven by the secret she's keeping. However, there were so many good light-hearted moments that had me laughing or smiling, especially the moment Vaughn and Charly met for the first time in this story and what the heroine does to him, because he makes her nervous. Luckily, Vaughn finds it within himself to forgive her and can tease her about that moment throughout.
Charly is strong, brave and she's accomplished a lot in her life, considering all that she's been through with losing her mom the way she did. She's also hard-working and I loved learning more about her and how passionate she is for all things fashion. While Vaughn, he's been through a lot in his life too. What his ex-best friend and ex-girlfriend did was unforgivable, but I liked that he managed to pull himself back from the brink of total destruction when it came to his career. Yet, what I liked most was the close relationship he had with his family and how easily they accepted Charly, because it's palpable how much he cares for the heroine.
Overall, Ms. Towle totally impressed me with this book where the scorching sex scenes illustrated the strong chemistry these two had from the moment they met superbly. The way this story ended brought tears to my eyes, because of Vaughn's reaction to Charly's secret. Why couldn't he understand that she had her reasons for doing what she did to help a friend? However, in saying that, I liked that Vaughn listened to a certain secondary character's advice in making things right with Charly, as they're a couple meant-to-be and nothing should be able to keep them apart. Then there's the epilogue which wraps this story up nicely, and Vaughn's speech was absolutely heart-warming. It goes to show that Charly means everything to him. I would recommend Wardrobe Malfunction by Samantha Towle, if you enjoy books with plenty of heat or if you enjoy reading books by Alessandra Torre, Vi Keeland or Penelope Ward.
“He kisses me like he always does. intensely. Like he’ll die if he doesn’t.”
“I’m just a normal guy who’s in love with an extraordinary girl.”
Wardrobe Malfunction hits all the marks. From an obnoxious actor to a wardrobe assistant that isn’t afraid to pull out all the stops. This story has it all. So, if swoon-worthy and smart mouth characters are your thing, than sit back, relax and get ready to enjoy one entertaining read.
From the moment I started reading this book, I was hooked. From that very first encounter with Charly and Vaughn, I just knew their story was going to be a great one. The banter between the two of them was verbal foreplay at its finest. The sexual chemistry between the two of them was just explosive and burned up the pages. I couldn’t wait to see what either one of them would say or do next.
You see Vaughn is the guy that has it all: money, fame, women. Because he’s been burned before, he doesn’t trust very easily, especially when it comes to women. So, when Vaughn comes to his next acting role, he’s only got one goal: keep his eyes on the prize and his dick in his pants….Easier said then done. When he meets Charly, all bets are off. She’s got a fire inside of her that Vaughn can’t help but ignite. And the more time Vaughn spends with Charly, he quickly sees that she is nothing like the women he knows. She’s beautiful and intelligent and has a heart of gold. She is extraordinary. The road to happily ever after of course won’t an easy one for Vaughn and Charly. In a world where people lie and cheat to get ahead, a simple misunderstanding will put everything these characters know into question….
Wardrobe Malfunction sucked me in from the moment I picked it up and is by far one of the most entertaining reads I read so far this year. I loved everything about it. I laughed. I swooned. I had my heart broken. I fell in love. From the amazing characters to the well written story-line, I just couldn’t get enough. The characters are so much fun and have excellent chemistry. You can’t help but fall in love with them. They are the kind of characters that just keep you coming back for more. The secondary characters are also pretty amazing. I fell in love with Vaughn’s family the moment they entered the picture and I adored Vaughn’s firecracker grandma; she certainly stole my heart and kept me entertained.
Wardrobe Malfunction is just one of those books that makes you feel good and will leave you with a big smile on your face. It has the perfect balance of angst, romance, drama and steamy sexy times. It is sexy, sinful and funny as hell. In the end, you will be left with a huge smile on your face and will have been given all of the feels.
Vaughn West is at the height of his acting career. He’s the it man of Hollywood—until the ultimate betrayal sends him into a downward spiral of alcohol-infused days, ending with a different woman in his bed every night. His only way out of the funk is accepting a new movie deal with the hottest director in Hollywood.
Charlotte Michaels is a designer-brands girl on a thrift-store budget until she lands the mother of all jobs as Vaughn West’s wardrobe assistant on his latest movie.
Only their first meeting doesn’t go as planned, and now, Vaughn is acting like a jerk.
So, why do their clothes seem to keep falling off whenever they’re around each other? And why can’t Charly seem to keep her mind in the closet and off Vaughn?
Things are about to get hot, dirty, and messy in Hollywood. Especially if Charly’s closely guarded secret falls out of her closet.
I will have laughed and swooned wit this book. It`s a book full of funny moments and also some steamy moments.
You have to read the part where Charly earned her nickname Pins it`s laugh out loud funny.
The start out as, well friends-with-benefits. But they can`t help but fall for each other. Because of Charly`s secret she wants to keep their relationship quiet. What happens when Hollywood finds out about her secret?
What I liked:
I do love me a HEA. Charly has a good heart, is loyal and has some spunk. Vaughn is just dreamy…. I also really liked his grandma and the way his parents keep him grounded.
What I didn`t like:
The fact that Charly should have been honest from the start. It would have saved them a lot of trouble. But that is just nit-picking.
