At first I thought that Elly and Carter's relationship was very typical of most romance novels, of being friends first then reconnecting and falling in love. I have to say though, I fell in love with their relationship. Their first time seeing each other again was so lovely and had me grinning like a Cheshire Cat. Seeing them be fully open with their feelings in front of each other was such a lovely thing.
The whole backstory with Elly's mum and the cancer was a great twist and was interesting to see it as part of relationship baggage. I lived seeing how the thought of cancer affected them both.
I think I would have liked to have seen Carter's family integrated into the book more. But who knows maybe the author will write a book about the wedding and we will get more back story on both if their family's past.
The fact that this book was written from both a male and female perspective was a lovely touch. Overall a great book. I seriously hope another book comes out with the wedding and the aftermath of her health scare and going for all those check ups (if there's not one already).
With a friendship from the start with a new colleague who happens to be in Ellys life also it's not long before they are reunited and start the journey together as they always wanted to be with their hearts belonging to each other for nearly nine years they finally admit their feelings however like all new relationships there are a few bumps in the road that they have to over come.
This story shows the present and the past with memories for each character and it had me in tears at some points but even throw the tears I still had to read on and I can't wait to download the rest of this series
Carter and Ellyson meet on their first day of college…. The butterflies started for both of them the second they meet…. But they remain friends throughout college, as neither will admit their feelings.
Carter has to return home to Texas following graduation to help out in his family business….. Over the years they lose touch but neither forgets one another….
Nine years later…. Carter returns to New York for a job…. Fate crosses his ad Elly paths… their attraction and desires for each other are still there and begging to be acted on.
This is their second chance…. Both older and wiser… they openly admit their feelings to each other with a little encouragement from their friends….
Can this be their chance to be together???
Can they get their happy ending???
This is a cute story about true love always finding its way…. I enjoyed this book and fell in love with the characters but I did feel that at times the story line had lost its pace…. This is a cute friend to more story which takes you on a happy journey….. It was nice to have a book not full on angst towards the main characters…. I look forward to more from this author.
