New updated version 2.1 Mostly very small improvements and the biggest ones are: - Improved bearings on X-Axis - Thumb screws instead of wing nuts to level build plate Once again Wanhao leads the way when it comes to high quality and a price that are really attractive! This price is for a pre - assembled printer with a prusa core design. We are excited to present this printer to you and we think it's going to be a real success. The newest edition in the Duplicator family is a huge step forward! This time Wanhao and 3D Prima presents a printer that is good enough to use as a semi professional 3D Printer; but at a price that you can't really believe and that is hard to beat! The i3 comes fully assembled and ready to use. It's based on the open and reliable Prusa i3 design which means that you can grow with the printer; modify it and enjoy it for a long time. The Wanhao i3 comes with a heated build plate; USB connection; SD card reader and a LCD screen. It also boasts with the brand new MK10 extruder – that means that you are free to use almost any filament you prefer; PLA; ABS; PETG; take your pick. Wanhao i3 is built on a sturdy all steel frame design with a metal carriage; this will improve your prints and make sure that you have a printer that sits firmly on your desk without any heavy vibrations that will interfere with the print. This new printer is also equipped with the latest generation of the well appreciated MK10 single extruder and this fact alone is a very good indication of what this printer is able to deliver. A new design feature is that the electronics housing is a standalone part; this fact should greatly decrease almost all electromagnetic interference. We think that this printer can stand up against the best and if you combine this with the incredible pricing you have a printer that is hard to beat – on any level!!

For the price; ~£300, you aren't going to get a printer which prints in a higher quality at the speed this does. Granted, it's still slow, as are all hobby market 3D printers.
The mechanically minded humans amongst us will cope fine with this, the print bed doesn't auto level but that takes around 5 minutes to sort out about once every two prints you do, and the instruction booklet, whilst being poorly translated from Cantonese, and lacking detail, and endorsing Cura too much, does include useful photos of how things SHOULD look.
If you aren't patient, you should forget about taking up 3D printing as a hobby.
If you are patient, 3D printers are probably, along with designing on 3D CAD programs and slicing, the most fun you can have with your clothes on...
Wanhao does a good job of expanding on RepRap's i3 skeleton and out of the box, good prints will be produced. Excellent prints can be achieved by printing your own parts to upgrade it with, which is brilliant!
I recommend an air flow attachment for the extruder fan, as well as Z supports as the printer tends to wobble a little, which can make prints somewhat fuzzy. Nothing you can't sort out with a bit of ingenuity however.
A huge user community and many, many (many) threads on every conceivable issue will help those of you new to printing, and a massively expandable skeleton place this printer a head and shoulders above the rest at this price range!
And for goodness sake, don't use Cura, I recommend Matter Control to slice your STL files, scale your models to fit the print bed etc, it's far better than Cura in every aspect. Don't be put off that you're "allowing MatterHackers Inc. to make changes to your computer" either, honest, good stuff.
9.5/10 - would read poorly translated Cantonese again
