Whilst a lot of it is common sense, it really helps to have it all laid out in one book.
Basically Everett thinks there is no excuse for bad personal image in business. And whilst we probably all have reasons as to why we went out with unpolished shoes, a stained top etc her argument is that you cannot make 1st impressions again...
Some of the fashion mentions are a bit out of date, but she doesn't suggest you turn into a fashionista, just try to look modern.
I have already made some changes and feel happier for it.
Everett's advice on how to become more aware of your own Personal Brand is excellent. But she is also not afraid to go into some occasionally disturbing detail. For instance, I had no idea that the style of suit that I have worn for years went out of fashion at the same time as Duran Duran. And I was horrified to discover that I really should change the make of deodorant I use more often than once every Olympics.
Buy it, read it, squirm a bit and then follow her advice.
