I picked up this book in a car boot sale and I adore it - the images in it are absolutely beautiful and for a children's book, it's very informative.

Janni Howker has done a wonderful job here; it's amazing how she has used so few words but has woven a beautiful children's book. Each page is illustrated with a painting of the actions shown in the text. There is no story to speak of, but each page describes a different aspect of life for wolves and the italics indicate facts about wolves. I think it really captures the spirit of the wolves through a perfect medley of stunning paintings, factual information, and the text that comprises the main body of the text.

I think that it's a lovely book; it's so simple it will keep a child's attention but it will still help to give a positive view of wolves and helps kids learn more about these beautiful animals. Even for me, I found this a charming read and I would definitely recommend it, especially to people with an interest in giving a positive view of wolves to their children.

I bought this book for my son, it is one of a range of books in the series, they are all excellent, and the pictures are brilliant too! My son really enjoys reading these, as he is very fond of animals. I would recommend this book for any parent to buy for their child to help with their reading.

I recently read this book with my Year twos as part of our PSHE lesson and they loved it. It was thought provoking but in a KS1 way. The consequent art work produced was fantastic. (This book followed Tano and Binti)

Beautiful book. Love the illustrations and the language. It is a story, but realistic- not glossing over things such as hunting.
I read it to my class as part of a study of wolves and they loved it!
