About the Author

Kristen Ashley grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana, and has lived in Denver, Colorado, and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.
Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multigenerational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland, and Kristen grew up listening to the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon, and Whitesnake.
Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music and love was a good way to grow up.
And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

I'm hating that for the first time ever I'm bored with a KA book. Really bored. While I loved the couple and am glad they got their HEA, I was done with their story less than half way through. I actually started to wonder at that stage who was getting more 'air time ' so to speak, as everyone but the milkman got a say in this story. Way too long!!! Far too much time given to a baddies effect on the Chaos MC considering he only appeared briefly but managed to be a main figure throughout the entire story... and still no resulation so I'm presuming more books on Chaos which at this point in time has run its course for me. I'll continue to read her other books but I think I've bought my last book in this series as it's being played to death.

Also I agree with another reviewer that a lot of the dialogue feels as if it's simply been copied and pasted as all the guys sound the same with the grunting and growling and the girls are starting to sound like they all come from the same gene pool of perfection that's just not fun anymore but eye roll worthy. The nick names have to stop because seriously it's almost disrespectful to the men and makes the girls look like bimbos.

A couple of years ago ms Ashley would have been the author in this genre a lot of other then budding authors looked up to and tried to emulate. ..but right now there's a decent batch of those authors that are now writing better stuff with more diverse characters. ..and not all models of perfection but still fantastic in their realism.

The first 40% of this story was great and I would give that part 4 stars but from then on, it went downhill and I was bored as again, it was just the same old, same old and repeated plot lines from her previous books, so overall, this was just an 'ok' read for me.

Millie and High (Logan) met 23 years ago and fell in love instantly. They were happy for three years but then Millie ended it. The story does have flashbacks to 23 years ago, but disappointingly, we never got to read the part where Millie ended it. What I found odd is that they haven't seen each other for 20 years even though Millie has been living back near High for 11 years. One day she sees him in a queue in a take-away place and overhears his phone conversation and concludes that he has kids. She then decides she needs to meet him and explain why she ended things 20 years before but this doesn't go to plan. High is understandably annoyed at her and says and does some hurtful things but they have sex and then continue to have sex while High decides what 'play' she is making with him. I did like this part of the story although I didn't like the interference of the Chaos women and Elvira (never been an Elvira fan). Another thing that I found completely unrealistic was that in the 20 years since Millie and High split up, she has had no other lover, nor has she dated. I just found that ridiculous. High of course had married a girl he got pregnant even though they didn't really love each other but decided to have another child together. They split after 12 years together.

The Chaos men are not pleased Millie is back on the scene as they protect their 'brother' and she hurt him so they're not exactly friendly towards her and then a scene culminates in Millie losing it and High finally realising he's got to make amends.

This book destroyed my soul and heart in the best way. I cannot believe this is the first ever book by this author for me to read, have i been living in a cave?! So the book - Millie is adorable and i got her from the first pages the going home and having a routine and the fear of change and going outside the comfort zone. But her relationship with High i did not get that. I got it through the flash backs and totally understood it then, but there is something that when you read it and the context in which it is revealed to you the reader that makes you adore Millie so much more and the love she has in her heart is beyond huge.

The chemistry between her and High is explosive literally and physically when they collide. But with it in the present day comes hurt and anger between High and Millie. High my thoughts on him are conflicted i did not understand his anger until later on,but the way he and more importantly his friends in the MC club are to Millie is at one point disgusting. God i wanted to slap them in that bar!!!

But my heart softened to him and his lovely alpha ways. This book is about young love and the passion that burns so brightly that you will burn yourself and your future happiness for someone else. That is love and desire which is what this book is but be warned you may want to throw things and will certainly need tissues. One of the best MC romance books i have ever read!!!!

WTF......sweet Jesus this book was so awful. I am stunned. If tack knew one of his men was allowing himself be called snookums there would be definitely rivers of blood. This was pure trash and a complete waste of money I am so disappointed. I will have to rethink my commitment to the chaos gang after this.
