I am not readily drawn to fiction, much preferring real life action. Ted Darling came to my attention after reading all five of the 'Sell the pig" trilogy (sic) written by this author under the pseudonym Tottie Limejuice. I am now addicted to the stories of this unusual detective and having read the first six books I was eagerly awaiting the arrival of 'Walk on by'. Was it up to the high standard of the first six? You bet it was! More believable cases for our unlikely hero and a cliffhanger ending that turns this from mere pleasure into a serious addiction. I can't wait for my next fix.

Another great read. And a scary cliff hanger of an ending. I loved the continuing relationship developing between Ted and Trev and between DCI Darling and his team, and the Ice Queen. Great list of new characters including a very obnoxious Marston. There were a couple of typos, which is quite unusual for this author. But I really enjoyed reading this book and the author has really managed to make Ted Darling seem real. Can't wait to read book 8 and would love the series to be made into a TV series.

Great read and plot, as have been all in L M Krier's Ted Darling series. Un-put-downable from the start. The writing and storyline have got better with each one. And, in Walk on By, more is revealed about Ted's flawed personal background. This makes him less than perfect which is good. Interesting that in most, if not all, books in the series a small village in Lancashire gets a mention in one guise or another. Agree with Bookworm's review, that these books are a TV series in the making. Looking forward to the next book.

Erm wow I don't actually know where to start so I will start by saying this is the seventh book in the series how the hell did that happen?! Seriously this author produces such excellent quality stories in no time at all. It only feels like yesterday since I read the first book in the series Baby Got Blue Eyes in each book the plot thickens and the characters grow from strength to strength. and in this story I really feel like I actually know them has real people and could happily have a green tea or two with Ted.

For those of you that haven't read this series DI Ted Darling lives with his partner Trevor....yes they are gay which for me makes this a unique series something that is totally different to other crime books that I have read. But it might not be everyone's cup of tea. These guys are certainly the stars of the show and make a brilliant strong couple.

This can be read has a standalone but I recommend you read the series with this story we get a whole new insight on the characters personal life and family woven in with police procedure. Ted finds himself in charge with the big boss out of action. The story starts off with a robbery and a brutal stabbing of a woman. He really has his work cut out with a senior officer who has a grudge about Ted overseeing the cases will stop at nothing to take Ted down.

OMG what a story with a start to the story that will have you hooked until the end. This book has been sitting on my pile for far to long and I really wish I had read it sooner I flipping loved it.....OMG and that ending! I seriously cannot wait to read the next book.

Has always I love Lesley's style of writing making me feel that connection with the characters. This book has a brilliant plot and what I like to call an easy read and it would make a wicked TV series.

I highly recommend Walk On By giving it 5 massive stars.

I have had this book on my iPad for a couple of weeks..... waiting to read it whilst on holiday......I'm glad I waited. It's a terrific read, well written, a good story with intrigue, one or two heart stopping moments and even some humour! For those who are familiar with the series there are some lovely moments between your favourite characters........no spoilers though so I won't tell you......just read it!
If you are not familiar with the series you could start with this one, it isn't necessary to have read the earlier books. (Although you will probably want to having read this) A great read ........can't wait for the next in the series and judging by the ending of this one it will have a worrying start!

Cannot believe this is the seventh book in the DI Ted Darling series and they only get better, hard to put down from the very beginning. Loved this one especially the cliff hanger at the end.

I must admit I did enjoy the insight into Ted's father in parts of the book as we never really got to know about him but at least now we know a bit more.

Can definitely recommend this and all previous books, well done Lesley and I look forward to number eight.

The only negative comment I can make is I did miss Ted's lunches with pocket billiards, hope he does make a comeback in the future!

Well ..... given the ending of this book, the next one better be along quickly. Another axcellent read from this author. Ted working on a task force led by an old 'friend'. The different elements of the plot were woven together very skilfully. The characters are drawn well and as a reader you have a keen interest in their development.

This is one of the best series of crime novels I've read in recent times. Interesting, believable characters; plausible plots; and incredibly fluent, readable writing. LM Krier deserves to win a crime fiction prize for this latest novel.

Though I'm hoping nothing happens to Trev in the next book, given the dark hints in this one!
