Product description

Product Description

Streichfett combines the best of the now extinct species of String Synthesizers of the 70s and early 80s. Its dual sound engine features a fully polyphonic strings section and a monophonic solo section, which is essential for recreating how adult movies sounded thirty years ago. The Ensemble Effect handles lubrication of the String Section, while the Effects section adds adjustable Phaser or Reverb. Alternatively, the Effect section can be used to animate the strings registration, allowing spectacular sound morphs.

The Solo Section offset presets named Bass, E-Piano or Clavi, and just like in your typical string machine, the sound has little to do with that name. Instead, these are shimmering and slightly percussive sounds that blend well with the string section.

Although the User Interface is simple and easy to comprehend, it controls a rather complex sound engine which is capable to delivers rich and creamy pads unlike any other instrument.

Twelve patches can be stored and selected in the Memory section, USB and MIDI are of course on board.

New toy bought for my husband for christmas. He was VERY impressed. He has made a video which can be seen on YouTube
He says sounds are richer and have more bass than expected. If you want to hear how it sounds go to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNseHplR3v4&feature=youtu.be

Getting hold of old vintage sounds is done in two ways mainly nowadays. Firstly, find a few grand for a vintage synth which crop up on ebay from time to time. Or secondly, use soft synths. While I use soft synths, I always preferred hardware at my finger tips. And so to have the majority of synth strings at hand in a unit which is nearly as light as a bag of sugar is a bonus. I wont harp on about the sounds (harp on, you get it), other than they are sweet, and just what I've been looking for. The way the sounds change and morph into oneanother is impressive. It just sounds good, there are so many ways you can change and manipulate the sounds also which also makes the synth fun. You really can't beat this amount of sound for under 200 quid.

I love vintage string machine sounds and this has exactly the same general ambience as 70s Tangerine Dream, Richard Wright, Jean Michel Jarre, etc - lush, swirly, evolving, phased string pad sounds. Very simple to use, just 12 preset programme slots that you can tweak, adjust and save/overwrite in real time plus versatile layer/split that can run separate bass/lead lines etc. Integrates seamlessly into Ableton and I haven't encountered any glitches yet. Very small & light and being USB powered frees up a socket too. Only had it a couple of weeks and it's already one of my favourite bits of kit.

Simply put, this so much more than the sum of its parts, and for less than £200 is a complete bargain for all those proper lovely phasing pads of yesteryear, and it'll have you believing that all those amazing sounds from Oxygene were coming from this very box.
The best sound-module I've ever bought.
