About the Author

Christine Horner, M.D. is a nationally known surgeon, author, and professional speaker residing in Taos, New Mexico. She holds two board certifications: the National Board of Surgery and the National Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Horner was recognized as a leader in her field shortly after starting her plastic and reconstructive surgery practice because she successfully ran a national campaign to pass laws requiring insurance companies to pay for breast reconstruction following mastectomy. Her five-year crusade-the Breast Reconstruction Advocacy Project (BRA Project) led to the passage of laws in thirty-five states and a federal bill, which was signed into law by President Clinton on October 21, 1998. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Format: Hardcover
I think this is a fantastic book, well written, easily understandable and full of great and doable information. The author had been a specialist breast reconstruction surgeon and spokesperson for the American Cancer Society. She came out of the medical industry into a more 'preventative' practice and to help ladies move to a much healthier lifestyle. The author got fed up with saying on behalf of the US cancer society the same old stuff and that we don't know what causes cancer or how to prevent it. Even if you just followed some of her tips to include healthier products into your life - like flaxseeds, it is worth the read. Although she is vegetarian, one does not have to take this step to benefit from the great information contained within. If you are wanting to make some informed changes and add healing, nurturing and healthier foods into your diet, this is a great book to start with. This book should be on the bedside cabinet of all females.
