This album starts out with what feels like a nod to Dissection with its atmospheric guitars and is blown away in short order by Death Metal Guitars as only J.F. can deliver. Maurizio's vocals have a slight David Vincent (Morbid Angel) hue to them but are still as original and intense as ever! Musically Kataklysm are sticking with their strengths and I certainly am not going to complain! Sadly Max is not on the Drum Throne, he is at present battling personal demons and I wish him a speedy recovery! Oli Beaudoin (Ex- Belphagor) is sitting in on the drums for this album and what a great job he has done! Stephane is on Bass Guitar as usual and gives the album an immense, pulsing undertone that is quite groovy in places. If you are reading this review then the chances are that you know or want to know more about Kataklysm and all you need to know is that they are as furious and relevant as ever! Kataklysm improve with each successive album and still manage to keep the songs fresh and interesting. This version of the album has an interesting cover version which is "The American Way" from Sacred Reich and is done with consummate ease and professionalism, the Death Metal vocals really add a new dimension to this Thrash Metal Classic. I have most of their back catalogue and I intend to keep collecting this incredible Death Metal Phenomenon for many years to come!!! "Waiting for the End to Come" is a bold statement from a band that is as vital and inspired as they have ever been!!! Any Death Metal Fan can buy this album without any doubt of its quality, relevance and ability to blow your mind!!! If you haven't already bought this incredible Master piece, then what are you waiting for?

Definitely an album which is continuing in the progression of albums Kataklysm have been putting out. This would compare in the strength of songs the whole way through to Serenity In Fire and Into The Arms Of Devastation. There is a sense an accessibility that pushes Kataklysm close to mainstream metal without losing their underground death metal identity. Melodic with a crushing heaviness that keeps you hooked throughout.

This album delivers more of the same slow, heavy and dare I say melodic side of death metal that people have come to expect from them. There is also a healthy dose of more brutal tracks, specifically 'Fire' and 'Empire of Dirt' that have a taste of Bloodbath about them. Maurizio Iacono’s vocals are excellent as usual and the musician ship in the band is as fresh as ever. Stand out tracks are 'Like Animals', 'Elevate' and 'Kill the Elite'
