Product Description

Product Description

Gross-out comedy starring Ryan Reynolds, following the sordid goings-on behind the scenes at 'Shenaniganz', a generic chain restaurant. Dean (Justin Long) has worked as a waiter there for years, but soon starts to resent his dead-end job when he hears of a former classmate's lucrative career in electrical engineering. His sleazy, skirt-chasing best friend Monty (Reynolds) is in exactly the same boat, but is perfectly happy to continue his partying lifestyle with the other freaks and misfits who work at the restaurant, including his ex-girlfriend Serena (Anna Faris), and the deranged head cook Raddimus (Luis Guzman). While Monty introduces shy new recruit Mitch (John Francis Daley) to the intricacies of the job, including how to tamper with unpleasant customers' food and a bizarre staff competition known as 'The Game', Dean tries to figure out how he can change his life around, or whether he should just take the assistant manager's job at the restaurant.

Having worked as a training manager for a very large Uk restaurant chain, this story is a very true reflection of just some of the things that go on behind the scenes !!

The whole story is very close to the everyday staff of any fast food restaurant, they all have there team members that know what their job role is and will not budge 1mm outside that boundry.

The games the chefs play - well lets just say, yes they do happen !

I sat though the entire film. placing faces from my past to the film, It is funny and at times gross. But the truth is ..... never upset the chef or staff when eating out.

This reminded me more of an episode in a sitcom than a film. It was basically a snap-shop of a shift in a restaurant: showing how the staff interacted both with each other and their customers. It had some gross-out laughs and was ok to relieve the boredom of my ironing but I'd have been disappointed had I paid to see it in the cinema.

I recently watched the comedy Just Friends starring Anna Faris and Ryan Reynolds so decided to check this one out which focuses on the pair waiting on tables in a restaurant, the difficult customers in the restaurant and the crazy mix of staff. The strongest cast member here for me was Luis Guzman as a chef. Always funny with his scenes. In fact, most of the cast fit their roles very well apart from Andy Milonakis and Max Kasch as Nick and T-Dog whom I cringed at everytime they were on screen. The comedic parts were funny, and I enjoyed the different array of characters bar the aforementioned Nick and T-Dog and I think I have to ultimately give this film a recommendation. 3.5/5

Great film, if youve ever worked in the hospitality industry you will know atleast a few of these kinds of characters, its simple, lazy sunday no brainer comedy, perfect.
The other guy gave 1 star based on installing silverlight, not actually based on the film.

It strikes me as odd to have a team of full flavoured characters revolving around the bland lead character. Each member of staff will have you laughing at some point just not Justin Long. Sorry bud, you were just funnier in Dodgeball.

This film is not for the faint hearted - full of crude jokes and the Game the play is pretty vile, but all in all it's very funny and as ever, Ryan Reynolds and Anna Faris give excellent performances.

Not claiming to be high brow or anything other than a fun comedy with some sick scenes and a clear message to those intending to be rude to their waiting staff.... if you like films along the lines of American Pie then you will love this....

Extras are pretty good too....

omg! it felt less like a movie, and more like a first day at work. The characters are totally believable hell I think I know folk like them at my work ha ha. The plot feels more like your first day of work, and thank god you dont work there! And some Funny twists in it you don't expect? its an ok movie, but feels like work rather than a movie.
