"Wait" intriduced us to Edie and although she was Ash's younger sister I couldn't remember if she featured at all earlier on and again this all comes back to Austin and what was going on in his world, we as readers were always just kept on the edge where he was concerned, along with the sadness and guilt that he carried with him daily we couldn't help but feel it all.
When this story opened up I felt very apprehensive simply because of who it was, you felt the sad vibes almost immediately, the grief, the guilt and of course the loss..it was all there and once Edie came into the picture it became tenfold.
We had know idea what had gone on in Edie's life but as this brilliant storyline began to unfold we stared to get some clues and it was just clues because again A.L. Jackson just gives you enough to drive you crazy with your own thoughts...it is absolutely torturous and the story gets deeper and deeper until it practically consumes you and all through this the sadness and heartache with Austin and now Edie continues to build.
Aside from everything that was Austin and Edie we still had Baz desperately reaching out but Austin still wasn't ready the guilt still eating away at him but of course it had us wondering would he ever go back home... Edie too.
There's a lot to take on board with this story and in true A. L. Jackson's poetic style it just adds to the awesomeness and makes you realise how talented she really is.
The conclusion to "Wait" started about 90% it was pretty tense and had you hoping for the best but we had to go through the worst first..!
There are plenty of emotional moments throughout and the scene at the end is no exception.
It looks like Ash might be carrying some guilt with him now? I can't wait for his story "Stay"
Thank you A.L. Jackson..!!
This has everything you could ask for in a book and more. It touches on some very strong and emotional issues but is written beautifully and with such care. I couldn't put it down!
This one answers a lot of unanswered questions from the first books and it was just as heartbreaking as I expected! I wanted to hug Austin and Edie all the way through, they have both been through so much.
