This is without a doubt one of my favorite ppv's ever! The free for all at the beginning gets you prepared for the event and the return of bret and the undertaker! the opening match featuring the new rockers & owen + bulldogg Vs newcomers furnas & lafon + the godwins was an ok start! the taker/mankind match was great because they bring out the best in each other! the debut of the rock ( back then rocky maivia) made the next match a good one because he got over with the crowd by winning the match! now here comes the big one, the return of the hitman against the machine austin! it was great, for as long as the hitman was away there was no ring rust! a great win for the hitman and a great outing for austin! this was the begining of austin really! the next match is worth mentioning apart from the surprise return of jimmy snuka! the championship match delivered the goods! sid's thinkin to distract michaels by attacking jose was great! the psycho one had been born!

My review of WWF Survivor Series 1996 (MSG)

An incredible World Wrestling Federation pay-per-view of Survivor Series (1996) which took place at Madison Square Garden (November 17th).

We got three amazing and well worked traditional "Survivor Series" elimination match-ups featuring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's debut as Rocky Maivia.

The Undertaker and Mankind as always put on a great match-up, and well-worked together seeing them brutalise each other.

Bret Hart's return match against Stone Cold Steve Austin was an amazing one, with it being a constant back and forth match-up.

Finally the main event is not to be missed as Shawn Michaels defends the "World Wrestling Federation Championship" against Sycho Sid.

An enjoyable WWF Survivor Series and for it being my first time watching on the WWE Network, I will be watching if for my Survivor Series marathon later on in the year.

I thought this show was good and lived up to my expectations. The first match is on the free for all and involves Billy Gunn(Mr A$$),Bob Holly(Hardcore),Jesse James(Road Dogg),Aldo Montoya(Justin Credible in ECW),Justin Bradshaw(Bradshaw in APA),Salvatore Sincere,Bart Gunn and the Sultan(Rikishi). The first match of the event is Godwinns,Furnas,LaFon v Owen Hart,Bulldog and New Rocker(featuring Al Snow as Leif Cassidy),it's a fairly good match. The second is Mankind v Undertaker, which I think is excellent. The third is the official Survivor Series involving Rocky Maivia(The rock)in his first match,"The Stalker" Barry Windham,Jake "Snake" Roberts,Marc Mero,HHH,Jerry Lawler,Goldust and Crush. The fourth match is Savio Vega,Flash Funk,Yokozuna and Jimmy Snuka v Faarooq,Vader,Fake Razor Ramon and Fake Diesel(Now Kane). This Match is boring. Bret Hart v Stone Cold is excellent. The final match is a decent WWF Title match between Sycho Sid v Shawn Michaels.

This event was a key stop on the road to Wrestlemania 13. The Bret Hart vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin match-up was a classic and hyped the submission match to follow at 'mania 13. The WWF Title match between Sycho Sid and Shawn Michaels was also very good. The event also includes the debut of Rocky Maivia (a.k.a The Rock) and a thrilling match between Mankind and The Undertaker with Paul Bearer suspended above the ring in a cage! I recommend this video highly as it will enhance your collection of WWF Videos. A must have for older fans.
