It kicks off nicely with a triple threat for the i.c. title as MIZ battles with champion WADE BARRETT and other challenger Curtis Axel. It has some great moments, the last few minutes are very good and I liked the end.
Next a diva's match, get ready,it's actually a good one,no seriously. Diva champ Kaitlyn faces AJ,it's quite an entertaining battle, moments we don't usually get in women's matches, last couple of minutes really stand out, though the after match sobbing looked a bit odd.
KANE challenges DEAN AMBROSE for the u.s. title,it's very good, nothing special perhaps, but it works and the end makes sense, smart move.
DOLPH ZIGGLER defends his heavyweight title against ABLERTO DEL RIO. There's certainly moments of an attitude change from DEL RIO,it's a good enough match, coud've gone a bit longer, but it did what it had to do,i'd go as far as to say I enjoyed it.
Next what should be the match of the night, had me worried it might be a let down,it wasn't. So CHRIS JERICHO vs CM PUNK was the match it should've been, nice time given, top wrestling, quite a few good moments, kept you guessing who would win, interesting finish, loved it.
DANIEL BRYAN teams up with RANDY ORTON to take on champs SETH ROLLINS and ROMAN REIGNS,it's very entertaining and interesting to see BRYAN team up with someone else and look at ease with it. I would like to've seen this go on for several minutes longer, the 2 members of the shield look impressive again and there was another great end to the match.
Okay, the main event,3 stages of hell as JOGN CENA defends the wwe title against RYBACK. For me,the first stage, the lumberjack match was shockingly short, but captured the interest.Read more ›

The Miz vs Curtis Axel vs Wade Barrett for the WWE IC Championship ****
Great opening match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship, with Curtis Axel finding a genius way of capturing his first major championsip in WWE.
AJ vs Kaitlyn for the WWE Divas Championship ****
Probably the best divas match of 2013 with the lovely AJ and Kaitlyn battling to the death for the WWE Divas Championship.
Kane vs Dean Ambrose for the WWE US Championship ***
Pretty basic like RAW match up, with the Chicago crowd cheering on Dean Ambrose of the Shield.
Alberto Del Rio vs Dolph Ziggler for the World Heavyweight Championship ****
A match up that was just near fall after near fall that I give full credit to Dolph Ziggler who suffered a head injury during the match. taking Alberto Del Rio to the limit.
CM Punk vs Chris Jericho *****
Chicago's own CM Punk made his return to Payback to face off against Chris Jericho, in what was an instant classic of a match and one of the best matches on pay-per-view for 2013.
Randy Orton & Daniel Bryan vs Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns for the WWE Tag Team Championships ****
A rather unusual pairing of Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton who battled Shield member's Rollins and Reigns in what was a good tag team match up.
Ryback vs John Cena for the WWE Championship (3 stages of Hell Match) ****
A nice way to finish off WWE Payback 2013 with a good main event match up between WWE champion John Cena and the challenger Ryback.
Overall WWE Payback 2013 was one of the best pay-per-views in my opinion of 2013 with it being held in the best city to host it in CHICAGO.
CM Punk v Chris Jericho and Dolph Ziggler v Alberto Del Rio were both matches of the night. Essential viewing for these.
The 2 out of 3 falls between Cena and Ryback was very good along with the Shield v Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan. The rest of the under card were all good matches.
Along with Money in the Bank and Wrestlemania 22, Payback proved to be another great Chicago WWE show. One to get!
The pay per view took place in the Allstate arena, Illinois, always a great crowd.
No spoilers here but, a brief reflection of the matches:
CM Punk VS Chris Jericho
Kane VS Dean Ambrose (US Championship)
Kaitlyn VS AJ Lee (Divas championship)
Wade Barrett VS MiZ VS Curtis Axel ( IC championship)
Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns (The Shield) VS Daniel Bryan & Randy Orton (Tag team championship)
