this is in my opinion one of the best wrestling games available! would be better if owen hart and dynamite kid were on it though, but we all know that probably wont ever happen , its a real shame though that the fans don't get to celebrate their legendary status. all wrestling fans should own this game

Ok, when i got this i was expecting smackdown vs raw meets legends of wrestling, which it kind of is, but it's more legends of wrestling the SvR. The control system is really quite sub standard and the game has very limited move sets for ALL wrestlers in it. It's an ok game but i would only recommend it if you're a HARDCORE fan of WWE and want to relive those Wrestlemania moments over and over. Graphically it's fantastic, not too life like and not massivley cartoony, it looks like a game should (half way between reality and cartoons) in my opinion. But on the technical side of things a below par control system and limited grapples and strikes and the amount of ridiculous mini games (well, the same mini game over and OVER) that happen far too often in one match make this a bit of a tiresome game. So if you're an avid wrestling fan, it's worth the money, but if not, i would stick to the SvR series, much more entertaining and satisfying to play!

I'd be lying if I said I didn't get goose bumps watching the intro of the Wrestlemania VI feature in this game - the first wrestlemania I ever saw and what a main event it was! The Warrior is The Ultimate Legend and getting to recreate the match was superb, I'm 26 but felt like a big kid again! I admit the amount of moves is limited compared to previous WWF (yes I'm old school none of this WWE nonsense) titles but theres a few new twists in there to keep it interesting. For £27.99 it's great for memory lane for you old school wrestling fans and good for a laugh but it'll never be a Res Evil 5 or Call Of Duty beater for perfection. One last comment is the online match creater is rubbish... as is the Street Fighter IV, only really good online system I've seen is for Mortal Combat vrs DC Comics if im honest. COD is not bad. My last gripe.. where's Earthquake and Texas Tornado? Or The Rockers and The Bushwackers-the only tag team is the Russian and the Iranian boy! and Mick Foley?

I come from that generation when wrestling really became more about the entertainment, and less about the sport. Characters such as Andre the Giant, Big Boss Man, The Warrior and of course Hulk Hogan figured large in my playground conversations. I wasn't a massive wrestling fan, but I enjoyed the drama and some of the action. Best of all were the mental costumes and crazy antics of the wrestlers, far better than the changing room smack-talk and pantomime action in the ring.

When I first turned on Legends of Wrestlemania, I was instantly drawn in by the cheesey rock riffs and theme tunes, the huge lineup of legendary characters from the 80s through to today (has the Undertaker been pickled?!? He looks no different 20 years on!) and the hammy voice acting.
However, once in the ring, I was soon bored.

You can choose whether to have training prompts turned on during your early fights. These come in the form of action-freezing screens which briefly tell you how to pull off a move. However, you've not gotten even close to giving one move a try before the screen freezes again and another prompt comes up! On and on they go, getting increasingly complex and never giving you a chance to try them out. So, I turned them off, hoping to muddle through. No chance, the controls are so unintuitive that you will simply be mashing one button over and over. Occasionally you'll get a QTE come up which asks you to push a button, but the consequences seem entirely random whether you push the button or not. Added to this, the prompts that appear next to your player's power bar are replicated by your opponent's bar - even when you're playing against the computer! Why?!?! Its confusing and entirely unnecessary.
Speaking of power bars, the ones in this game are incomprehensible. I was pounding the Undertaker in to the canvas, when suddenly his manager (Pall Bearer - geddit?) raises up an urn and the Undertaker inexplicably gets three quarters of his energy back. What the... ?

Maybe I'm just not well versed with wrestling games, but I really felt like developers of this game were purposefully trying to confuse me. Without a decent tutorial, the game is unintelligible to all but the hardcore who have been playing these games since the days of the NES and Master System. Its great for a brief spandex-covered trip down nostalgia lane, but otherwise I would avoid.

I only got this game because I like getting PS3 trophies and I heard that it was a pretty easy game to get the platinum trophy for. I got the platinum trophy less than a week after I started playing the game. Apart from the trophies I did enjoy the game. It was great fun at first and I liked how it showed you actual footage of the fights before you did them in Wrestlemania Tour mode. However I didn't really like the controls. They are not like the Smackdown VS Raw controls. They are hard to master and I got frustrated at how difficult certain objectives were as the controls are bad. The game is ok overall but I would only recommend it to trophy hunters looking for an easy platinum.
