THQ have finally announced their 2004 Gamecube wrestling title. But it's not the Wrestlemania XX that people were expecting. They have started from scratch to bring you the most realistic grappling experience to date, with 'WWE Day of Reckoning'. The title is being created by Yukes, the Japanese developers responsible for the highly successful Smackdown games on Playstation 2.
Gone is the mission-based 'Revenge mode', which dominated Wrestlemania XIX. Instead you get the chance to take your character from the lowest ranks as an amateur wrestler, through to the top of the WWE mountain. To begin with, you will have to prove yourself in small gymnasiums against a group of unknowns. Do well and you may get noticed and earn yourself a coveted WWE contract. Upon signing, you will get to choose to work on either Smackdown or Raw. To start with, even the lowest ranking WWE superstars will have higher attributes then you. You will be able to upgrade your stats by successfully winning matches, and working your way through the competition. This 'School of Hard Knocks' season mode takes place over the course of a year, features approximately 50 matches, and includes all 12 Pay Per Views. During which you will have the chance to compete for every WWE title. Beat all the competition and you could even earn a WWE Championship match at the granddaddy of them all, Wrestlemania!
To date, only four WWE Superstars have been confirmed, including Chris Benoit, Stacy Keibler, Triple H and Trish Stratus. The final roster is said to include 40 wrestlers, including superstars from the current roster, and classic legends from WWE's illustrious past. Equally, only two game play modes have thus far been confirmed.

If you like WWE then this is the game for you!
It has both incredible graphics and superb
character details. The story mode is imensley
addictive and enables you to create a charater
with a really high rating. Something that you
couldnt do on wrestlemania 18. The entrance
detail is awesome with you being able to control
fireworks, camera angles and lighting!
There are 2 bad points: The Rock(perhaps
the greatest wrestler ever) is not in the
story mode and there are only 4 divas.
No Torrie Wilson!
Great Game!

Forget what evertone else has said about this game it is great. Im a wwe fan and i think this game is awesome. The roster is missing a fair amount of wrestlers, JBL, the Dudleys and so on, but the Create a Wrestler is so good that anyone missing can be put into the game easily. Nearly all the match types are in, elimantion chamber is the only one missing i think, and there is even legends like bret hart in the game. The story mode is a bit linenar but i still thought it was fun 2 play. The multiplayer mode is as good as ever.
Overall if u liked Wrestlemania xix get this.
Graphics - 9 Best graphics of any wrestling game on any system ever.
Sound - 6 Good rock sound track, but only about 6 songs and they get repetetive quickly.
Gameplay - 7 The AI aint that good but you will never get bored of multiplayer.
To sum up if you are a wrestling fan buy this game now.

A wrestling game for Gamecube it's pretty okay sort of but some problems with it

The good side of it is

*the wrestlers look really great on this game with there trademark moves
*cool songs on the main menu as it's rap or pop songs that will play while you pick what you want to do
*cool entrances with there again trademark music that's what needed on a wrestling game not they fake music or music that they don't have on
*the controls is like hold A then bash B to do a punch or press A for a move
*I love the story mode too but it's short do you reply it? Not really and beside's you need to win match's in order to move on in it which is a downside, why can't we just lose and let the story kick in or something?

Ok I put 5 things about it, the faults of this game is

*slugish controls you need to hammer after hammer a button to work it to counter a move it's a on going of hammer something to make it work right or you're done for
*it's kind of easy to knock someone off a move if someone is in a submission of a move the other person who is looking can break it up anything or if you're in a hold a suplex then a other guy can break it up unlike Smackdown Vs Raw by punching you then the other two wrestlers fall back that I really hate that but it happends a lot in this game
*not enough match's I swear I saw a lot of match's in SVR games
*you can't get back up after being knocked off the floor so you need to bash or hammer a button again like I said it's a button basher only game til your little thumb hurts like crazy
*last thing why they is no commentator on this game what so ever only music so when you're playing there is no people talking about the action in the ring it's solo music only. We want people to talk about the action in the ring

Well that's my theory on this it's sort of bad and good which can be fixed all you really need is PATIENCE on this game

Short and to the point:- This game is excellent as a fan of pro wrestling and to those who don't follow the 52 week a year soap opera known as WWE or TNA!
There are so many good things to say about the game, but you can read them on any of the other reviews so won't repeat!
What I do have to say is that this game was a landmark of the WWE, as its filled with the wrestlers that made the "WWE hordcore era" great! Eddie, Angle, Benoit, Booker T aswell as the legends like Undertaker, HHH, Andre & even 1 half of the Mega-Maniacs Brutus "The Bionic Brother" Beefcake. all feature in this modern day epic! Even now in 2012, this is still the best WWE game ever made!!!
2 major points worth noting about this game...
1) This game marked the end of the hardcore era of the WWE. Many of the stars either died or moved onto greener pastures of TNA.
2) CAW is excellent so you can reform the Mege-Maniacs!!!! Ohhhh yeah BROTHER!!!!!!!!!!
