This is a wonderful book. It gives an insight into the composers lives, and best of all it describes their childhood. It totally inspired my nine year old son who could immediately relate to the situations these children were brought up in, which in turn effected the type of music they wrote.

For anyone playing the great composers' music or with an interest in the history of music this is a great introduction to the composers' lives.

This is a wonderful collection of five short stories about Handel, Bach, Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven. Beautifully written in an engaging style, these stories successfully introduce the early lives of these composers, with accuracy but also humour.

A memorable book and an excellent introduction for children to the lives of the great composers.

I wish the author would have mentioned the names of the compositions to which she is referring, instead of just saying was working on an opera, or composed music to words.
