The Skyliner 200's flat-packed base is very easy to build and set up, and comes with excellent instructions....The optics were sharp across 80% of the 1 degree field of view....We were very pleased with the appearance of al the test objects - we even managed to find the Crab Nebula, M81 and M82 in near-full Moonlight, whereas the other scopes were struggling. Under darker skies the Double Cluster had that 'Wow' factor when it was centred using the 25mm eyepiece, as did M35. The Pleiades (M45) was just a bit too large to fit in the field of view, but the main central stars looked stunning....Turning to Saturn, the view really took our breath away: we saw five moons, a clear-cut Cassini Division and a colour difference between the A and B rings. Not only that, but Saturn also displayed a prominent belt - with this scope planetary detail is certainly not compromised....Fans of deep-sky observing would certainly find the Skyliner satisfying....The Skyliner was a joy to use.

Dont worry about light polution as I am in a city and some night I look up with the naked eye and cant see anything - looking through the telescope and bang the universe is your ostyer.
Just one thing that counts against this one is it's size. It is very big which makes traveling with it difficult. I have to travel to get anywhere dark enough to view most things so I was driving like I had a new born baby in the back of the car. But still 10/10 for this one.
The scope takes a little time to put together but quite easy to do so.
The eye pieces that come with the scope are ok but I would suggest the Celestron eye piece kit with a 2x Barlow some filters , 6mm etc ... A must for some good viewing of planets.
As with any scope don't expect to see excellent detail as soon as you set it up for night viewing !! You need to allow the inside of the scope to cool down to the same temperature as outside , it shouldn't take more that 20 mins with the dust Capp off.
The scopes finder is very good but does not have a right angle viewer so you may get a sore neck :( so might be worth updateing once you get used to the scope.
Now onto what you can see :), you get a good view of Jupiter and its moons, Jupiter is so clear on a nice cold night and you can see its bands . Both Venus and mars are very nice but again depending how clear the air and atmosphere is.
I'm still learning my self but this scope is excellent and well worth the investment.
