Voyage is a tremendous exercise in genre worship. Throughout the album you hear Led Zepplin's Moby Dick riff, Hole in the Sky era Sabbath, appropriated and applied in the classic blues rock tradition. Because of the nature of the music, it's unfortunate that Vintage Caravan won't be spoken about all that much, except for in praise of how well they ape their influences. Because this is third time around for this heavy nostalgia, the early nineties are also an obvious touchstone for the young band, Spiritual Beggars and Grand Magus lurk in the exhuberant riffery. Craving opens the album with a juggernaut riff which seems not to cease for the following fifty minutes, my personal favourite is Cocaine Sally because of it's slightly dirtier, bluesier take on a none more traditional topic.
For me, this is four stars not five because I look for a bit more from the lyrics...the words here are neither third eye opening nor concerned with the state of the world, like perhaps Witchcraft or Graveyard might be. Also, third track, Do you remember, is a little too reminicent of Counting Crows/Hootie and the Blowfish and it takes a good couple of tracks after it to clear the sonic pallet. Little gripes aside, this is a really fun album and deserves great success, I'm happy to see that it's gaining some traction and hope to see the band grow in the future.

A three piece band from Iceland that have captured classic rock to a tee. A hint (influence) of the likes of Sabbath & Led Zep and other such classic rock bands can be heard throughout this album, however in there own improvised style. My favorite tracks have to be Midnight Meditation & Expand your mind (The videos of which are rather clever and amusing at the same time), however the other tracks all hold up well too. A great album that I am glad to have in my collection. Thanks to Planet Rock for giving them air time, as without this I doubt I would have stumbled upon them!

awesome album for those who enjoy the retro sound!
looks like a mix of Led Zeppelin with other bands of the 70s, but with a uncontrollable energy!
Super recommended.

I have to be honest....until a few hours ago i had never heard of this lot. But boy am i glad i have now, it is a very good album, as the other reviews say,it is good'n'heavy...great guitar, bass & drums. From what i have found out they have been around a few years, and in fact this album is a couple of years old. I assume it is being reissued as the copy i have has a different cover and a track not on this one. Also i believe their is another album available from 2011. Anyway, great band, great album...go to you tube and check them out, i really hope they do well.

Fantastic album.Bought this on download when it originally came out and had to get it on vinyl when it was reissused. This is classic 70's rock from start to finish and the music is crafted beautifully, the music traverses nicely between all out in your face ROCK to chill out melodic ballads and Oskar Logi's voice suits both well.Their follow up album "Arrival" progresses nicely from this and is also a must have for any record collection
