Product Description

From the Back Cover

IN THE TRADITION OF THE BATTLETECH SERIES, ASPECT PRESENTS AN ACTION-PACKED ADVENTURE BASED ON THE UNIVERSE OF VOR, THE THRILLING NEW MINIATURE-BASED GAME.

NO EXIT

The world's two superpowers are at war -- when suddenly even nuclear annihilation becomes unimportant. For, without warning, the Earth is ripped from orbit, torn from the entire universe, by an insatiable, planet-destroying cosmic vortex. Now both sides -- along with everyone else on the globe -- are trapped in the grotesque parody of reality called the Maelstrom.

Exploring the concepts and expanding the background of this incredible adventure, this novel takes readers and gamers to the beginning: when armies of the near future face the horrors of the battlefield and gut-wrenching alien terrors they cannot escape as they are drawn...

4.0 out of 5 stars Good opener for Vor: The Maelstrom, but good sci-fi too! 2 Dec. 2003
By J. Peterson - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback
I enjoyed this book. As an owner and collector of the Vor: The Maelstrom game, it enhanced my gaming experience. As an avid reader of science fiction, however, it also seemed to stand on its own. Having a few concurrently developing plotlines showed good reflection of how the world might react in the Vor setting.
Even though FASA is now defunct, I'd recommend this as a good read anyway....

3.0 out of 5 stars A better WWIII novel than a game-based novel series lead-in 11 Jan. 2000
By Jeff Cross - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback
Since this was supposed to be the background for the FASA board game, I expected that when the Earth gets drawn into the Maelstrom, everyone would suddenly be at war with these alien horrors that immediately showed up; at least that was the impression I got from FASA's web site on the game. Instead it read like a distant-future version of World War Three with some occasional alien weirdness thrown in.
