Heather said they are well written with a degree of sentimentality with is reflected in the reader and the reader can see clearly how dear the people in the poems are to the author. The reader can then encompass these feelings and take them on, perhaps recognising them and associating them with a person in their own life.
I thought that they invoked some very powerful emotions although for me there were a couple that were slightly too personal either as I do not actually know the people myself or perhaps I felt like I was invading their privacy but I believe that may be more of a reflection of me than the author!!
All in all I enjoyed reading something different and I will certainly keep this book on my kindle and re-read parts from time to time.
Congratulations Cindy and I am really looking forward to the follow up when it is released in July
Joy, Laughter, Love, Beauty, Sorrow. She writes with so much passion it's so easy to relate to her work.
Wonderful Book Cindy Thank You, Keep Writing! x
In this collection of poetry, there is an electric mix of topics, themes and styles, though all with a voice that is clearly Smiths. Many of her poems are beautiful and emotive; I especially enjoyed Heartache.
Filled with powerful imagery and depth, her poems provided me with time for escapism. A thoroughly enjoyable collection.
